A Personal Message from the PremierI am delighted that you will be among those representing our province during our 2016 mission to the Republic of Korea. On behalf of the Government of Ontario, thank you. Strengthening economic ties, creating new partnerships and encouraging investment in Ontario is my job as Premier, and it is only possible because of the initiative and innovation of business leaders like you.

Ontario is known internationally as a hub for research and development, with a strong and supportive entrepreneurial environment. We’ve built a dynamic business climate with one of the world’s most educated, highly skilled workforces. The talent and skills of our people are our biggest competitive advantage. During this mission to the Republic of Korea, we will highlight the strength of Ontario’s workforce, as well as the fact that our province features some of the largest, most innovative ICT and start-up markets in North America.

Being part of a government-led mission opens doors to new connections and opportunities. You’ll meet government and industry decision-makers, connect with potential business partners and build bonds that will further our commercial and cultural ties with the Republic of Korea.

Thank you again for everything you do to create jobs and economic growth in our province and for helping us tell Ontario’s story in the Republic of Korea. My colleagues and I look forward to working with you as we build an even stronger economic future for the people of Ontario.

Ministry of Economic Development and Growth

Office of the Minister

900 Bay Street, Hearst Block, 8th FloorToronto ON M7A 2E1

A Message from the Honourable Brad DuguidMinister of Economic Development and Growth

On behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Growth, I am pleased to be part of our government’s 2016 trade mission to the Republic of Korea, led by Premier Kathleen Wynne.

The Republic of Korea is an important market for Ontario. The Republic of Korea purchased $598 million worth of exports from Ontario in 2015 – that’s an increase of more than 25 per cent over 2014. We want to ensure Ontario companies continue to build on this prosperous relationship, and tap into new opportunities presented by the Canada-Republic of Korea Free Trade Agreement.

I invite you to learn more about why Ontario is a great place to do business. Our government is building a better economy through our Business Growth Initiative. It is designed to help grow the economy and create jobs by promoting innovation, helping small companies scale-up, and modernizing regulations for businesses to ensure Ontario is competitive in the global marketplace.

I am excited to join such an impressive delegation of Ontario business leaders. They are a great representation everything Ontario has to offer, from our vibrant auto sector to other sectors our province excels in, such as information and communications technology (ICT), advanced manufacturing and life sciences.

I look forward to discovering new opportunities for the Republic of Korea and Ontario to strengthen our relationship further, and prosper together for years to come.

Sincerely,

Brad DuguidMinister
