ENCOUNTERING GOD | EXPERIENCING LIFE | EMBRACING OUR COMMUNITY
ENCOUNTERING GOD
Dear Church,
It is interesting that we are experiencing one of the hottest summers on record here in Northern Virginia. Last winter, we received record amounts of snowfall. I don’t know what to expect when it comes to global warming. I think I will leave the earth and all the fullness of it…up to the Lord. So many new faces are with us. I want to invite you to a special time of gathering on Saturday morning, August 7, for those who are interested in joining the church or who simply want to find out more about the church. We will meet at 9:30 am in the choir room. Refreshments and a continental breakfast will be provided. Carol and I will talk to you about the church, its vision and direction. All those who are new and are seeking are invited. Also, those who are interested in joining the church will need to attend. If you have questions, let me know. We are going to finish up our Juicy Fruit series this month. I want to tell you what’s next. “One Month to Live” is a small group, church wide emphasis on living our lives in such a way that our relationships take a higher priority. We will be challenged to live our lives as if we had only “One Month to Live.” You will hear more about this as the month progresses. Pray along with me for a life changing experience. Thank you for all the ministry that you do. So many of you, doing so much blesses me. Carol and I love you and pray for you. May this August be a great month to serve Him. In His Service,
Pastor Gary

The afterlife is cloaked in mystery.
OCTOBER
If you knew you only had one month to live, what would you do to make what’s left of your life really matter?
That’s what we will be considering come October 3rd, 2010 when we start the “One Month to Live” challenge which encourages people to start living their lives as if they only have 30 days left on earth.
The nation’s financial woes and daily reminders of the fragility of life are attracting many people to the challenge who are reassessing their priorities. Participants in other parts of the country report that taking the challenge has help them to live life more intentionally—from spending more time with their families to strengthening their marriages to giving back to their communities.
Centerpointe Church, are you ready for the challenge?
Wednesdays August 18, 25 & September 1 at 7:00 pm, Centerpointe Church
Children, grades K through 6th, are invited to join us for three evenings of fun as we play water games, get sticky, and learn about “tackling” sin through a life of godliness. Although the event time is 7:00 pm-9:00 pm, kids are invited to come at 6:30 pm for some early bird water fun. The cost is very affordable…..FREE!
