How we work What we do
5stream is privately owned online video solutions company - trading since 2009. Our team has over 21 years experience in producing, delivering and distributing premium online video content for local and global organisations to viewers all over the world. Our staff were the first to broadcast a RTMP live stream over the Akamai CDN in Australia. We are a proven, experienced and agile team with a simple goal: delivering innovative and world class solutions, integrations and support in the online video space.
We understand that online video is a fast moving space and the specific nature of your requirements are likely to change. 5stream works in a strategically iterative development and integration cycle – constantly optimizing and releasing incremental parts of our overall platform, product and service. This allows us to rapidly improve features and incorporate fresh ideas while maintaining a stable and robust platform.
5stream offers highly configurable live and on-demand video streaming solutions. We offer streaming servers, integrated video players, a scheduling and management interface, hardware, automation solutions as well as support and consulting services to companies of all sizes.

5stream offers integrated and robust live streaming solutions based around an intuitive web-based management interface. Built on best-of-class platforms including Amazon Web Services, Wowza Streaming Engine and Akamai, 5stream has the capacity to take your live event to millions of concurrent viewers.
5stream also offers advanced and customizable features including: Server-side Recording, Server-side Transcoding, Pay-Per-View, Password Security and Domain Locking.
5stream also offers on-demand video delivery. Combined with our Server-side Recording, your live event can be available for on-demand viewing, minutes after finishing.
5stream integrates directly with your own PayPal account - enabling you to earn 100% of Pay Per View revenue for your live and on demand streams. Customers purchase from directly inside the video player, while all profits go to you.
5stream makes it easy to deliver HD live and on-demand video to all devices. We deliver HTTP live streams to both Flash and HTML5 based video players. This means that viewers receive all the video data as HTTP packets over port 80 - bypassing most firewalls.
5stream delivers RTSP live video streaming to Android devices - currently the only fully supported way of serving live video to all Android devices.
5stream also offers hardware automation and hardware support services. Our proprietary hardware automation software is integrated directly with the 5stream platform - enabling you to schedule, record, start and stop live streams remotely.

Akamai Content Delivery Network5stream delivers Live and On Demand video content over Akamai’s Content Delivery Network. The Akamai CDN’s expansive reach, spanning 140,000 servers in over 87 countries, provides a superior platform that is responsible for between 15 and 30 percent of all Internet traffic, worldwide.
Dedicated Wowza Streaming Servers5stream is built on Wowza Streaming Enginge. Wowza Streaming Engine™, formerly Wowza Media Server, is robust, customizable, and scalable server software that powers reliable streaming of high-quality video and audio.
Amazon Web Services5stream servers are hosted within Amazon Web Services. While video is delivered over Akamai’s CDN, it is important to make sure that origin servers are scalable and defensible, and that all data is stored in a durable and robust environment. 5stream makes full use of Amazon Web Service’s advanced failover, load balancing and disaster recovery environments.
PayPal5stream integrates PayPal’s payment process directly inside the video player. This means your viewers and customers can purchase access to your videos within the familiar PayPal environment without ever leaving the video. 5stream makes use of PayPal’s APIs to send your earnings directly into your own PayPal account - giving you full details about your customers.
