This provides the ability to access information as it happens. This could be via a website, an app or an electric signage.

Example types:This could be checking an airport website for flight times and if they’ve been delayedAn app that updates you about traffic status A bus stop to tell you about timesBenefits:Keeps you up to date with news, traffic situations and weatherHelps you to plan future journeysCompanies can use these systems to advertise

Real Time Information

This service is usually more related to money than the others. The service gives you the ability to purchase items or

check your bank balance.Example types:This could be checking your bank balance via a websitePurchasing items via a websiteBenefits:Allows you to buy products from the comfort of your own home A quick and simple way of buying and having your shopping delivered to your home.

Commerce

This service allows you to access opportunities like online tax returns from the internet.

Example types:An example could be voting online (known as e-voting)Applying for a grantBenefits:The benefits are that it is hassle-free, you don’t have to go out to put in an application for a grant. This will also save plenty of time being accepted.

Government

This service allows you to be able to download your favourite things such as music.

Example types:This could be a website like iTunes that lets you purchase music onto an electrical deviceAnother example could be a website that offers the opportunity to download movies and seriesAlso the apple app store lets you buy/download appsBenefits:Allows you to buy items that are in store without leaving your homeThe products are delivered to your home

This gives you the service to learn online. Providing information about how things work such as Moodle.

Example types:A website like MyMaths that provides activities and learning Benefits:Allows you to understand things you may not ‘get’ in classProvides activities for you to complete

Education/Virtual Learning Environment

This provides the service to be able to communicate or complete work from home.

Example types:An example could be face timing colleagues and having a meeting online Benefits:Allows you to complete work without having to travel out of home to the office

Business

These websites provide things to entertain you, such as TV catch up

Example types:On demand catch up TVWebsites to entertainBenefits:Allows you easy access to watch things you’ve missed.Able to visit your favourite websites and entertain yourself when you’re bored
