Functionality
How it will work…
• Application will be via UQ Courses and Programs site
• Applications will be electronic – not paper (Non QTAC)
• Student can return to application multiple times until complete
• Staff in processing units will access the system to see applications made by students over the internet
• Actual application assessment processes will be the same as before.
• Applications will be approved or rejected by staff using the web interface
• Offers will be made via the applicant portal
• If student then accepts the offer their details will be transferred into SI-net automatically
• After acceptance, the student’s online application will be locked and the student will be managed through SI-net

Expected Impacts on Units
For domestic postgraduate coursework applications:
• Applications are likely to be more complete and accurate thereby reducing the need to correct, check or follow-up about incomplete applications, because:
• Most fields will be compulsory • Some fields will have automatic data checking
• Acceptance and rejection communications will be largely automatic, triggered by the interface using template responses.
• Entry of the student’s details into SI-net will be automatic.
• Staff can supplement the process if required –communicating with student etc.
