On SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD, I will go
to The Rep and see a play called THE ANT
AND THE GRASSHOPPER
» » »
The performance will be at the Sally
Levy Opera Center on Hazel Avenue.
When I go in the entry there will be
someone to give us our tickets.
» » »
When I have my ticket,
I will go upstairs to the
performance.
» » » » »I may use the elevator
or the stairs.

When I get to the second
floor I will go down a hall
and turn left to get to the
performance space.
» » » » » » » » »
If I use the stairs I will see
a mannequin in a pretty
red dress at the top.
When I enter the
performance space, I can
choose my seat. Another
person with a name tag
called an usher will be
there to help me. The usher
will also help me with any
questions I have. Other
people will be coming in to
find their seats. There will
be an area that has tape on
the floor. The area behind
the tape is for actors only so
they can do the play.

The actors will come onto the
stage area and move, talk and
sing to tell us the story. The actors
will be dressed like animals and
they will jump around like the
animals they are pretending to
be. During the play there will
be music and talking through a
speaker, but it will not be loud.
When the play The Ant and the
Grasshopper begins a person
from The Rep will come out and
talk to us about how to be a good
audience. We can laugh at things
that are funny and clap for songs
that we like. When the person has
finished talking to us, the play
will begin.

If I need a break from watching the play, The Ant and the
Grasshopper, there are two things I can do:
An usher can help me find the pacing lane
where I can walk back and forth. I will still
be able to watch the actors on stage if I
am walking in the pacing lane.
If I need more space, the usher can help
me find the fidget area.

When the show is over I can clap for the actors.
We will leave the theatre the same way we came in.
If I want to meet the actors or touch their costumes
they will be in the hall on my way out. If I ask, I can
have their autograph or have the person who comes
with me take my picture with them.
Thank you for planning a trip to The Rep!We’re so excited to meet you!
