Situation Hill Farm has excellent national road network access via the M1 from Junction 28 and Junction 29. The farm lies approximately two thirds of a mile from the centre of Teversal Village toward Pleasley. From the B6017 between Tibshelf and Stanton Hill turn by the Canarvon Arms, go behind the public house into Pleasley Road and travel half a mile up the hill under the railway bridge into the centre of the village. Take the Pleasley Road in the centre of the village and after two thirds of a mile Hill Farm lies on the right (past the white cottage). From the M1 and Junction 28, pick up the A38 North towards Mansfield and Sutton in Ashfield. Travel past Sutton in Ashfield on the bypass and arrive at the Kings Mill Hospital crossroads. Pick up the A617 towards Chesterfield and at the top Skegby traffic lights go straight over towards Chesterfield and Mansfield. After half a mile turn left onto the A617 for Pleasley and after approximately 40 yard turn left into Penniment Lane. Continue down Penniment Lane and onto Top Road and after one and half miles at the bottom of the hill turn left sign posted for Teversal. Continue up New Bound Lane and at the severe bend turn left with Hill Farm lying on the left after a third of a mile. Purchasers beware there are railway bridges on the access routes to the farm and care must be taken at all times. ‘To the Sale’ and ‘Car Park’ signs will be erected on the morning of the sale. This genuine auction sale arises as a result of the dissolution of the Partnership between Mr Robert Porter and his Cousin, the Late Mr Tim Porter. They have traded as Porter Brothers at Teversal and the family have farmed around the village for over 90 years. Many locals will know of the recent passing of Mr Tim Porter and everyone will also be aware that the excellent herd of British Blue Cross and Limousin Cross Suckler Cows and Calves were sold in Autumn 2020 at Bakewell Livestock Market. The original on-site auction sale of machinery was scheduled for November 2020 however, COVID-19 restrictions at that time have necessitated a rescheduling to Spring 2021. There is a large range of machinery much of which has been purchased new and the family must be commended for their excellent attention to detail with regard to maintenance and general usage as their full range of implements, tractors and telehandlers is a great credit to them. One of the stars of the show includes the Manitou MLT635-130 PST Telehandler which was purchased new and has undertaken under 1800 hours as at mid-March 2021. All the four main 4WD tractors are fitted with front linkage and three also have front PTO facility. The Case Axial Flow Combine went to work for its first season in 1998 and has been owner driven since that year with only 1945 rota hours on the clock. Perusal of the catalogue photographs will reveal that these were taken for the original catalogue in October 2020 and perhaps the Winter lighting does not do perfect justice to the excellent machines on offer. Purchasers should attend and bid with confidence at this excellent sale which includes items for the arable and grassland farmer, together with the livestock producer alike.
