OMAHA STORM CHASERS BASEBALL CLUB OFFICIAL GAME INFORMATION LAST NIGHT’S WIN: Behind a two-homer, 6 RBI performance from Brett Eibner (first 6 RBI game for Omaha since Matt Fields on June 6, 2014 vs Oklahoma City at Werner Park), the Chasers notched a second straight series win to start 2015. Omaha won five games in a season- opening roadtrip for only the third time since they joined the PCL (also did so in 2009 and 2003). HOME OPENERS: In their 17-year history in the Pacific Coast League since 1998, Omaha has a record of 8-9 in their home openers and 3-1 in their four Werner Park openers (lost last year to Nashville). Omaha will open their home season schedule against New Orleans for the first time since the 2003 season (second time overall), when the Zephyrs beat the then Omaha Royals by a score of 7-1 on April 11, 2003. Omaha has won four of their last five home openers dating back to 2010, after they had a record of 1-6 in home openers during the 2003-2009 seasons. Last season, Omaha had a record of 9-9 in home series openers, and a record of 5-7 in homestand openers. GOOD EYE-BNER: Brett Eibner is tied with Matt Duffy of Fresno and Joey Wendle of Nashville for the Pacific Coast League lead in RBI at 11, while his three home runs are tied for second most (with four others) behind Xavier Scruggs’ four long balls. Eibner had 10 RBI and three homers through the last seven games of the 2014 season with Omaha (which included a nine RBI, three homer game on April 9, 2014 vs Memphis). In his 30 career Triple-A games in the month of April, Eibner has totaled 24 RBI and six homers, while he has only amassed 14 RBI and four homers in his 51 regular season games in any other month at the Triple-A level. BIN-FORD TOUGH: Christian Binford will make his first start at Werner Park in tonight’s game, and third Triple-A start overall. After allowing seven runs in his first 10.0 innings at the Triple-A level, Binford has given up only two runs in his last 12.2 innings for Omaha. In his six career innings pitched at Werner Park, Binford has allowed only one run (two relief appearances). CHES MOVES: Cheslor Cuthbert is riding a six-game hitting streak (.450, 9-for-20 during streak), which is tied for the second longest active streak behind Round Rock’s Ed Lucas at seven. In his last 26 games for Omaha (including the 2014 PCL Postseason), Cuthbert has totaled 26 hits (and 18 hits in his last 16 regular season games) after having 16 hits in his first 20 Triple-A games. He has already matched his homer total (2) of his 25 regular season games with Omaha in 2014. STELLAR STAFF: Omaha leads the Pacific Coast League with a 2.61 ERA (18 ER in 62.0 innings), and have not allowed more than four runs in their last six games after giving up six in the season opener. Omaha has also allowed the second fewest hits at 57 (trailing Iowa at 55). AT LEAST EIGHT: The Chasers rank 12th in the PCL with their 66 hits on the season (one of six teams that has only played seven games so far), but they have at least eight hits in all seven games this season, the only team in the PCL that has reached at least eight hits in all their games. NO SAVES: Omaha and Tacoma are the only teams in the Pacific Coast League through the first week of the season who have not recorded one save (Omaha is 0-for-2 in save opportunities). AVG R.
