Next week is OES Staff Appreciation Week
Please join us in showing our teachers and staff how grateful we
are for all that they do! Here are some ways your family can
contribute.
Monday 5/1 - Bring a Special Treat! To kick-off Staff
Appreciation Week, students are encouraged to bring in special
treat for their teacher(s). Ideas include: candy, cookie, single
flower, balloon or piece of fruit.
Tuesday 5/2 - Staff Appreciation BreakfastThursday 5/4 - Staff
Appreciation LuncheonThank you to everyone who signed up to donate
food and other items for these events. We still have a few open
slots remaining and are especially in need of volunteers to assist
with the set-up/clean-up. If you'd still like to donate food items,
but slots are filled, please email [email protected] or

Friday 5/5 - Handmade card day! Have your child take a few
minutes to create a handmade card thanking their teacher(s) for all
the special things they do each day. Parents may also send in
notes!
When sending in special treats and handmade cards, don't forget
our specials teachers, cafeteria staff, principals, counselors,
building services, health room office staff and others who make our
school so special.
The PTA will also provide the staff with treats on Wednesday and
a Celebration Cake Party on Friday.

OES Staff vs Parent Kickball Game When: May 11th at 4:30

OES PTA is having a fun kickball game on the school blacktop
where the staff and parents will show off their mad skills, or at
the least, provide entertainment! Come on out and show your Dragon
spirit and play, or cheer on the teams!
We have 12 teachers committed. (Teacher team roster will be
announced soon.) There will be two parent teams of 10 people on

Field Day is just around the corner! Grades K-2: Tuesday, June
6Grades 3-5: Thursday, June 8
If you are interested in volunteering, please ensure you
complete the required online Volunteer Training. The training may
be accessed at the link below:

All volunteers must complete the training. More information
about Field Day will be sent home as we get closer to June. Thank
you in advance for all of your support!
The last OES restaurant fundraiser of the year is on two days:
May 9th and 10th at Jersey Mike's Subs.
The fundraiser is all day from 9 AM – 10 PM and the flyer must
be presented. Link to Flyer.
Join us Tuesday, May 2nd at 7 PM for our final PTA meeting of
the year. We will be announcing our teacher of the year recipient,
voting in our brand new officers, getting updates from school, and
enjoying a dessert buffet.
Kang’s Karate will be joining our babysitting team to work with
elementary aged kids during our meeting.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Can you help volunteer on either Thursday, May 4th or Friday,

Time slots both days are:
9 AM – Noon and/or 1 – 3 PM
Volunteers must have completed the required volunteer training
through the county.
We especially need bilingual volunteers who speak Spanish.
