I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Best during his years of service to Our Ladyof Good Counsel Parish in Plymouth, Michigan. |im has served on the maintenancestaff at the parish with dedication for fifteen years, Unfortunately, a decision to use aprivate contractor to provide cleaning services has resulted in the elimination of hisposition at the parish.

Mr. Best always performed his duties at the parish and school in a most professionalmanner. Cleaning an elementary school with an enrollment of 600 students is not aneasy task, yet Jim could always be counted on to go above and beyond what wasexpected. He is a man of great character who is always willing to lend his hand inservice both on the job and in the community. He takes pride in his worh and in hisfamily.l hold him in the highest regard.

I have had the pleasure of working with |im Best for the past 14 years. |im was incharge of maintenance and custodial responsibilities for one wing of our school,which included rny classroom.

fim is a responsible, hard working and kind person. When you workwith children,there are so many unpredictable things that happen and no matter when I had to goask |im for help with something, he was always willing to help solve the problem.Other specific requests I made were always handled promptly. |im is always verypersonable and I enjoyed getting to know him over the years. He is a positive personand seems to be able to keep a smile on his face through stressful situations.

One quality of fim's I greatly admire is his social consciousness. He came into myroom once to do a lesson for my students about the need for fresh water indeveloping countries. He contributes to an organization that helps to build wells andprovide sanitation around the globe. My students were very inspired by Jim andcollected money to make a donation through him. fim's dedication to the lessfortunate is inspirational.

I am confident that |im will have great success in the next step of his career. I wouldrecommend him for any maintenance position.

|im came into my classroom to raise awareness about children who were sufferingin Africa. His presentation was interesting and prompted many of the students tobegin a fund to help the children. During the presentation, he was organized andextremely passionate about the subject. He held my students' attention for thewhole hour he spoke.
