Dear OMCA Attendee,

We have all sat through presentations that can only be described as, “Death by Powerpoint.” You know what they are: mind-numbing, graphically dull, text-heavy, bullet point slide

after bullet point slide, read monotonically by an uncomfortable presenter who spends very little time looking at the audience, opting instead to read from the monitor that which you can see on the pages in front of you. You could relive the entire experience by merely photocopying the hand-out.

Striving for Imprefection! PERFECTper

I assure you that will NOT be the case in these presentations - especially if you get involved. The slides in this handout do not represent the entire talk by any stretch of the imagination. What I have included are merely a few compo-nents of what we will cover (main points) but provided as graphically bare, easy to read, notes designed to AUGMENT what you will actually see at the presentation. In order to help save money on printing and paper, I removed the photographic backgrounds, most graphics, converted colors to black and white, and placed three slides on a page.

My presentations have been described as a “cross between attitude 101, group therapy, and a southern revival.” They are colorful, play-ful, educational, and interactive. Now, I know when some people read “interactive,” they get a little nervous and feel they must sit in the back row on their hands so they won’t be called on. I assure you, if you do not want to volunteer, you will not have too. I believe if you’re nervous about getting involved, you won’t be able to pay attention; so I do not do that. However, please know that no volunteers have ever been harmed in the making of one of my presentations. Whether you’re up or not, you will however, get much more out of this if you put your “left brain” on hold and engage the “right” side.

Oh yes, since I prepared these handouts to hit a deadline, I have made some changes since then. I know; if you’re similar to me — a recovering perfectionist — it might be a difficult adjust-ment. However, together, we’ll help each other through it.

Also, if you — like me — fight an ongoing weight battle, my syndicated column is free at www.WeightLossColumn.com and my daily weight loss blog is at www.ForeverFightingFat.com. You might also be interested in my motivational daily posts at TwoWords.Posterous.com (taken from my new glossy magazine, “Two Words”). Please join in the conversations.

In conclusion, I help people and organizations adjust to challenging times, implement strate-gies to overcome them — and celebrate the suc-cesses they receive. Sometimes, thoughts and ideas come up later. If you would like to connect in the future, or you know anyone who could use my services, I would be honored to hear from you – or them.

Thank you for this fantastic opportunity to serve you.

Now, let’s have some fun, shall we?

Sincerely,

Scott “Q” MarcusTHINspirational Speaker & Recovering Perfectionist2521 E Street, Eureka, CA 95501707.442.6243 • [email protected]
