Today’s Speakers

Lori Porter started her career in long term care over twenty eight years ago. She began as a dietary aide, moved on to be a CNA for seven years, a nursing home administrator for nearly seven years and operations director of ten skilled facilities in the Midwest. In 1995, she followed a dream and co-founded the National Association of Health Care Assistants (NAHCA) as a means to honor and recognize the CNAs and caregivers who serve our nation’s elders, as well as, elevate the profession of nursing assistants through professional development, advocacy, and empowerment. She and her staff have grown NAHCA to a membership of more than 40,000 members nationwide and a partnership with more than 850 nursing facilitiesmembers nationwide and a partnership with more than 850 nursing facilities across the country. The Association has grown to support an annual National CNA Conference bringing together more than 500 CNAs and caregivers from 44 states. Lori is a nationally sought after speaker and is author of the book Everything I Learned in Life I Learned in Long Term Care and co-author of Take it to Heart; CNA Solutions to the Staffing Crisis.

A sincere compliment will go a long way p g g yand it makes you feel good! Even if you don’t like someone, congratulate them on a job well done.

Look into the mirror every day and repeat y y paloud fifty times (and mean it), “I am a great person.” Do this for thirty days. Your mind will accept the statement as a fact.
