Architects Weeks Ambrose McDonald (AWAM) submitted project experience includes three Knoxville residence hall renovations and an additional residence hall renovation at Hiwassee College. Provide consulting services related to ADA and compliance with federal regulations. Provide site and building analysis, assessments and recommendations for ADA upgrades. Consultant should demonstrate ability to respond to Department of Justice findings, formal complaints and legal issues related to ADA. Review drawings and specifications for conformance to ADA requirements. Initial contract will be $50,000, three year term with renewal options up to five years total.

1. Self + Tucker Architects, Inc.The firm demonstrated the most experience in ADA site, building analysis andassociated remediation projects. All five submitted projects were dedicated ADAremediation projects. Two of the projects were higher-ed clients, including a 15-building assessment for UT. They also provided assessments of 120 schools for theCity of Memphis, resulting in approximately 50 remediation projects. 2. JENSEN HUGHES, Inc.The firm is a specialty engineering and consulting services firm, providingaccessibility, life safety, fire protection and building codes analysis for new andexisting construction. All five submitted projects were acting as codes consultantsand included higher-ed clients Vanderbilt and UT. The firm’s proposed teammembers are located in Knoxville (Project Manager), Cary (NC), Rockville (MD) andWestminster, CO.

3. CMArchitects PLLCFour of the five submitted projects were ADA compliance audits/remediationprojects for McDonald’s - with which the firm has a 10 year ADA Upgrades IDIQcontract. They have developed their own ADA reporting and surveying system. Theteam includes two in-house architects who are also surveyors – an advantage whensite topographical surveys are required. Firm has a good listing of relevant projects and demonstrates deep experience with similar projects. The project approach narrative is excellent in identifying the challenges related to repurposing warehouses, which would be very helpful.

3. The Architect Workshop, PLLC

Firm provided a good example of similar projects indicating comfort with this kind of project. The project approach narrative was very well thought out and captured the challenges of such a project. Firm has proposed an aggressive design schedule which would be beneficial to the project.
