B y the time you read this, your Administrative Office will be in the midst of its busiest time of the year. We will be attending to many details related to NAVAN's upcoming 17th Annual Conference, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia in September. The phone lines ring constantly during the summer, as some of the 34,000 people who receive our conference brochure call in with questions. That might mean that some of your phone calls will end up in our voice mail system. If this happens to you, please do leave a message and we will return your call promptly! The Administrative Office staff consists of myself, and Tonya Miller. Tonya began working for NAVAN a few years ago at our conferences in the registration area. Then, beginning in March of 2000, she assumed other general year-round administrative duties. Tonya now handles most of the membership renewals, new memberships, conference registrations, and special member mailings. She and I work constantly to keep your membership information up-ta-date in our database. Please call us any time at 888-57-NAVAN or 801-576-1824, or, email us at [email protected] with any changes to your emai!, phone numbers, or address. This will ensure that you receive our electronic newsletter - E-VAN, and that you receive your quarterly journal, ]VAD, in a timely manner. I began working for NAVAN just over 6 years ago. My previous employment background includes a position as a Business Office Manager for a branch of a Home Health Care Agency. So for almost 10 years now, I have worked in a behind-the-scenes role for a medically affiliated organization. [ enjoy my role in providing continuity to those associated with NAVAN by continuing to be some- one they can count on, and in handling many administrative aspects that help NAVAN achieve the goals set by its leaders. My aetual job functions include many financial responsibilities for NAVAN, such as payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable, banking, some of the tax areas, and assistance with the budgeting process. Most of your phone calls and other correspondence pass through me. If [ cannot help you, [ will make sure that your issue is presented to the person who can assist you. Our Conference Exhibitors, Speakers and Sponsors are supported by the Administrative Office, as well as our Corporate Members. I appreciate how the NAVAN Board of Directors keeps me involved in the "big piCture" of NAVAN so that [ stay excited about my role and contribution. Change is a constant paq of our environment, and the NAVAN Boards and Corllmittees do keep me on my toes! I have worked with some very talented and energetic board members, committee chairs and committee members over the years, and I look forward to the future - meeting and working with new ones. I have been espe- cially fortunate to work with Mary Lea Nations, our Executive Director, the past two years, because she provides constant support to the Administrative Office. I want you to know that one of the aspects of my job that I most enjoy is talk- ing with NAVAN's members, so please feel free to call me at any time, regarding any issue or question, and I will do my best to help you. I look forward to hearing from you soon, or seeing you in Atlanta! It is always so great to put a face with a voice. Office Administrator FDITORIAI.
