DAY 1 – SUN JUL 6, 2014 – DEPART CANADABoard your overnight fl ight (not included).

DAY 2 – MON JUL 7, 2014 – ARRIVE IN AMSTERDAMWelcome to the Netherlands! Your transfer departs for your tour hotel at 9:00 am, 11:30 am & 2:30 pm. Guests arriving later should make their own way to the hotel. Tonight we enjoy a Welcome dinner and drinks with our Tour Director and fellow travellers (6:00 pm).

DAY 3 – TUE JULY 8, 2014 - AMSTERDAM SIGHTSEEINGThis morning, see all the sights on an orientation tour of Amsterdam including the Mint Tower, fl oating Flower Market and the Royal Palace in Dam Square. In the afternoon, we visit the Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank and her family hid during the war and where Anne wrote her now famous journal. Tonight savour a meal of typical Dutch specialties with drinks in historic surroundings. In the evening, we board our private canal boat and glide gently along illuminated canals, past traditional Dutch-gabled houses built right on the water’s edge and under picturesque bridges.

DAY 4 – WED JULY 9, 2014 - AMSTERDAM – GROESBEEK - ADEGEM – BRUGESWe depart Amsterdam after breakfast and travel to Groesbeek to visit the Canadian War Cemetery. Here we pay tribute to over two thousand Canadian soldiers who lost their lives during World War II. We also visit the National Liberation Museum (1944-1945), which brings the historical events back to life. Then onto Adegem to visit the Canada Museum, built as a tribute to Belgium’s Canadian liberators. Then we continue to our hotel in the beautiful and medieval town of Bruges where you can enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

DAY 5 – THU JULY 10, 2014 - BRUGES – YPRES Today we travel to the historic Belgian town of Ypres where we will have the opportunity to visit Flanders Field Museum, tour the Tyne Cot Cemetery, St. Julien Memorial, the town of Passchendaele and the Canadian Memorial at Crest Farm. We also visit the Essex Farm bunker where Guelph, ON native John McCrae composed “In Flanders Fields.” Additionally, we will see preserved trenches in the Sanctuary Wood Museum. (If time permits we will stop at the German Cemetery in Langemarck). In the evening we will attend the famous

Last Post Ceremony which takes place at the Menin Gate every night at 8 pm. Tonight we enjoy dinner a at local restaurant to enjoy typical Flemish food!

DAY 6 – FRI JULY 11, 2014 - YPRES – ARRAS Today we explore the Vimy Ridge battlefi eld, from the rear areas at Mt-St-Eloi and Notre Dame de Lorette, to the stunning monument on Hill 145 and the tunnels under the ridge itself. In the evening, we enjoy a local authentic dinner.

DAY 7 – SAT JULY 12, 2014 - ARRAS - AMIENSBeginning with the Somme 1916 Battles, we visit the NewfoundlandMemorial at Beaumont-Hamel, where the Newfoundland Regiment was virtually wiped out on July 1, 1916. Later in the day, we visit the impressive Franco British Memorial at Thiepval, the Lochnagar Crater at La Boisselle and the Courcelette and Amiens battlefi elds. In the afternoon, we travel to Peronne and visit the Museum of the Great War and continue to Amiens for our overnight.

DAY 8 – SUN JULY 13, 2014 - AMIENS – DIEPPE – CABOURG Today we take a guided tour of the Canadian landing sites and the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery. We stop in delightful Honfl eur from where Samuel de Champlain set sail and founded Quebec. Then we continue to Cabourg, our home for three nights. Tonight we enjoy dinner at the hotel and the rest of the evening is at leisure.

DAY 9 – MON JULY 14, 2014 – CABOURG We visit Canada’s remarkable Juno Beach Centre at Courseulles-sur-Mer. Then on to Bernieres-sur-Mer for a walk along Juno Beach, where on June 6, 1944 the Third Canadian Division landed. We continue on to Beny-Sur-Mer and visit the Canadian War Cemetery. We see the remains of Mulberry Harbour and visit Arromanches 360º Theater. If time permits, we visit the gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer and a stop at the American cemetery at St-Laurent, overlooking Omaha Beach. Tonight we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Dr. Jody PerrunCanadian Military Historian at theRoyal Military College of Canada

Dr. Jody Perrun teaches history courses for the Royal Military College of Cana-da, the University of Winnipeg, and the University of Manitoba, specializing in the Second World War, post-Confedera-tion Canada, and the Holocaust. He has toured Canada’s European battlefi elds extensively, with particular focus on the Battle of Normandy, and led a study tour of Holocaust-related sites in central Eu-rope in 2013. His research has produced articles, book reviews, and conference presentations on Canada’s military and air force history. He has also contributed research for the Juno Beach Centre, the offi cial history of the Royal Canadian Navy, and a variety of historical docu-mentary fi lms. His fi rst book,The Patri-otic Consensus, a study of the Second World War home front, is forthcoming from the University of Manitoba Press.

DAY 10 – TUE JULY 15, 2014 – CABOURG Today we visit the medieval Abbaye Ardenne, where Canadian prisoners of war were executed by the 12th SS Panzer Division, before passing through the city of Caen. Next, we take the road to Falaise where we learn about Operations Spring, Totalize and Tractable (on which Dr. Perrun has conducted extensive research). We visit Falaise, Trun, Chambois, St. Lambert-sur-Dives (where Major David Curriewon the Victoria Cross), and Mount Ormel to explore the closing of the Falaise Gap.

DAY 11 – WED JULY 16, 2014 - CABOURG – PARIS We depart Cabourg for Saint-Denis and visit the Cathedral. On arrival in Paris, a Parisian local guide introduces us to all the fabulous sights of Paris including Notre Dame Cathedral with its tale of Quasimodo. We enjoy a drive through the courtyard of the Louvre to the Place de la Concorde and along the Champs Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. As night falls, perhaps consider experiencing the excitement and glamour of a French cabaret?

DAY 12 - THU JULY 17, 2014 - PARIS AT LEISUREEnjoy today at leisure! Why not relax in a Parisian café, window-shop in the elegant boutiques or mingle with the street artists of Montmartre? Perhaps admire Mona Lisa in the Louvre, or buy last-minute presents in famous department stores. Tonight, we head for the Latin Quarter, famous for its Sorbonne University, Boulevards of St Michel and St Germain. Here we enjoy our ‘Diner de Célébration’ served with wine in a typical authentic Parisian bistro.

Refunds: No refund is available if sightseeing cancellations occur after the tour has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilized.

Itinerary Changes & Tour Cancellation: Insight Vacations reserves the right to vary itineraries should circumstances (i.e weather, traffi c or timing) dictate, as well as cancel in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. The advertised tour requires minimum numbers to depart. Should these not be met, Insight Vacations reserves the right to alter or cancel arrangements.

Single supplement is an additional $1400 on a request basis only and is limited. Occupying a single room either by choice or circum-stance is subject to the applicable supplement.

Tour Membership: Any person aged 5 years or more is eligible, though if under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The Tour Director may, at his or her discretion, require any person to withdraw from any tour if he or she deems the person’s acts or conduct is offensive or a nuisance to other passengers, and we shall have no further liability.

Porterage: For one suitcase on tour is included in the tour price and at arrival or departure from each tour hotel. Due to limited coach capac-ity, this single bag should have a weight not exceeding 30 kg (66 lbs) and dimensions not exceeding 77.5 cm (30.5 in) x 56 cm (22 in) x 32 cm (12.5 in). Charges (approx. US$6 per person per day) will be levied in the event these limits are exceeded and our promise to transport you as indicated may be invalidated. Note: Airlines may restrict check-in baggage to 20 kgs per person. Please check with your airline.

Documentation: Approximately 21 days prior to departure from Canada, documentation will be received by your travel agent including a tour itinerary, a full hotel list, an optional excursion list and ticket wallet.

Holidays & Changes: During local or national holidays abroad, certain facilities such as museums, sightseeing tours and shopping may be lim-ited. In such instances, and whenever possible, slight itinerary adjust-

ments are made by Insight Vacations to minimize inconvenience to our passengers. If, however, you feel your enjoyment might be diminished by such minor limitations, please check with the respective national tourist offi ce before selecting a specifi c departure. Similarly, holidays, closing days and other circumstances may necessitate a change of the day of the week for scheduled highlight dinners, sightseeing or other activities. Due to the unreliability of domestic air scheduling, religious festivals and other unforeseen circumstances, the itineraries, hotels or order of sightseeing may change at short notice.

Airport Transfers:

Day 2: Arrival fl ight needs to be a minimum of 1 hour prior to the time listed.

Day 13: Departure fl ight needs to depart a minimum of 2 hours after the time listed below in order to qualify.

If fl ights do not qualify, Insight Vacations can arrange for transfers at an additional cost or guests can make their own way to the/from hotel/airport. No refund for missed or unused transfers.

Pre or Post Accommodation: Pre or post tour accommodation is sub-ject to availability. Passenger may be required to book on their own.
