To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your op- timism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. The Chili Crawl has taken place in Ag-gieville every fall for the last 17-plus years. Restaurants compete to see who has the best chili. Bragging rights and an award are presented to the restaurant with the best Chili.

The Taste of Downtown has taken place in downtown Man-hattan in the spring for the last five-plus years. This pub crawl type event features samples of the best dishes local restaurants have to offer. Ticket proceeds support LAOC grants.

abOut little apple Optimist ClubThe Little Apple Optimist Club is a 501(c)(4) service organiza-tion composed of community involved men and women who have been dedicated to serving the youth of Manhattan since 1995.

The club was originally created and sponsored by the Manhat-tan Breakfast Optimist Club as an alternative for individuals that wanted to participate but could not make morning meetings. Both clubs operate independently but have the same goal of serving area youth.
