Forest & Sandridge CE Primary School—Monthly Newsletter 8 October 2018

Autumn days . . .

We are well into the new school year now and everyone in school has already been

very busy. Whilst the children have been busy learning lots of new things in their new

classes and making lots of new friends, we have also had an exciting array of whole

school activities happening such as Harvest and International day of Languages. We

hope you enjoy reading about all of the events and information in the newsletter and

look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in school supporting upcoming

events and celebrations.

We continue to develop our understanding of friendship this term and the children

have been reflecting on what Jesus taught us all about being a good friend and

neighbour. This is especially pertinent at Harvest time where we share our food with

those around us. Thank you all for your contributions in the Harvest service; they

have been much appreciated and given to our local community.

We have had a big focus this term on expectations of school uniform and it has made

a real difference; children are looking super smart and this impacts on attitude and

behaviour in school. As the winter months approach we would like to clarify that plain

black flat boots are fine for school. Thank you very much to all the children and

parents for their support with uniform; it is very much appreciated

“Trust in the Lord with all

your heart and lean not on your own

understanding”

Staff changes

It is with very mixed feelings that I write to inform you that

Miss Liddell will be leaving us at Christmas. We are delighted for her that she will be starting her

first headship at a school in Trowbridge and know that she will make a great Headteacher.

We are sad that she will be leaving us however... she will certainly be missed. We are

currently working on the appointment of her replacement and will let you know as soon as we have information about this.

I am sure you will join me in wishing Miss Liddell every best

wish for her new job.

We are also sorry to be saying goodbye to Miss Sheppard who will be leaving us at half term to

start a new job in a specialist provision. We hope she will en-

joy her new role.

‘Cat in the hat’

By Dr Seuss

"Cat In The Hat" is one of my favourite books to read as a class because we always find the silly rhymes really funny. Thing One and Thing Two are my favourite

characters and the story helps take us to an imaginary world! In the words of Dr Seuss "oh the places you will go!"
