PresidentsReportforOctober2016HelloMembers,The committee will be sending you a questionnaire shortlyaskingforyourviewsonthedirectionweshouldbeheadinginthe futureaspartofour strategicplan. Itwill askanumberofquestions foryourresponsetohelpusinvolvethemembershipin our plan forward such as your thoughts on workshops,exhibitions,bustrips,andchangestothegallery,youthtraininggrant, and what other activities you want. The survey will besent electronically and we ask you to give it properconsiderationandrespond.OurChristmaspartywillbeonagainthisyearandfollowingthesuccess of last year it will be at the park behind the Galleryagain. The committee will supply the barbequed meats,memberscanbringaplateofsavoury,sweetorsaladandtheirowndrinks.Itwillbeonthe6thofDecemberat12.00pmfurtherdetailswillbeinNovemberFinePrint.ThePlanningofoureleventhSummerShowcaseiswellunderwaywithanincreasethisyearofsponsorshipandapromisebytheclubtoprovidehotfoodontheopeningnighttomakeupforthe debacle last year. With the results announced of theConfluenceexhibitionattheManninggalleryinNovembersomemembersworks didn’t get chosen. I invite them to enter theirwork into the Summer Showcase Exhibition including thesecondpaintingsthatwereentered.Theycouldeitherenterintothe open section or one of the sections that represent theirmediums.We are hoping that this year’s judge will be BridgetPurtillassistantcuratorattheGlasshouseRegionalGallery.ItwasdecidedthatwewillattempttohaveourHaveBrushWillTravelagainatGloucesternextyearfromthe13thtothe19thofMarchwewillgiveoutmore informationclosertothetimebutpencil it in and comeandenjoyaweekawaywithsomeof thenicestpeoplewithhighartskillsandgreatstorytellingabilitiesyouareeverlikelytomeet.Last but not least Congratulations to our lovely editor MariaNolan for receiving first prize at the Adelaide Swift Exhibitionforherstilllifeintheoil/AcrylicSection.TheAdelaideSwiftAwardwaswonbyGordonRossiter.BrianBarker
