OCTOBER 6, 2015 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR Too Much Time? This past Sunday I asked a question for which I already knew the answer. No one has more time than they know what to do with! Our lives are busy beyond what most of us think we will ever be able to get done. Of course, the point of my message this past Sunday was to help us think about how we use the time that God has given us here on earth. How do we prioritize God? Do we make prayerful choices about the things we get involved with? Do we live a life where God comes first, then family, and finally everything else? In a life structured in this manner, God wants to give us what we need in every area of our lives. Putting Him first is part of the process of change we need to go through in order to experience this. This week we will be talking about our talents and abilities. What can you do and what do you have a passion for? I think these two go hand in hand and have the power to really energize the church if we will loosen the “reins” a little to allow people to express those gifts and run at full speed. Often churches say “NO” way earlier than they should. They probably should say “YES”, and find out what God is trying to do in the life of the church. The following week the sermon will be about “MONEY”! There is a progression in our faith when it comes to stewardship. First, most people give time, then they share their talents, and finally they open the old pocket book. It is the hardest area to fully trust God for most people. Next week, you will get information about the stewardship campaign. Included in that letter will be a spiritual gifts inventory that I would appreciate if you would return with your name on it so the ministry teams can see who is interested or, more importantly, who is gifted in a particular area of ministry. The other item that will be included, and this may be a little challenging, is a request for everyone in the congregation to list what they would give if they gave 10%, an actual tithe. Do not put your name just a dollar amount and there will be no place for a name. If a name is put on one it will be marked out. The reason I am asking you to do this is to let you see what the church could do if everyone tithed - what our giving potential is as we grow together in Christ. I ask for your cooperation and, since no one is being identified, I hope everyone will participate. You can put the spiritual gifts inventory and tithe worksheet in the offering plate, or drop it by the office. I think if everyone does these two things, we are going to get an idea just how much we could accomplish if were work toward being faithful givers of our time, talent, and treasure. Hope you all have a blessed week, and see you on Sunday. --Pastor Paul

N.E.E.D. CENTERVOLUNTEERS

The NEED Center, located at 5028 Broadway in Haltom City, is needing volunteers to work on Thursdays. The hours needed are either 10am - 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm. NEED Center reaches out to those in the local communtiy who need food, clothing, rental or utility assistance. We, as a church, have financially supported the NEED Center for many years AND our CWF women have put countless volunteer hours in to help keep it organized and running smoothly. If you would be interested in volunteering, please contact Gay Agan (817) 690-9557 or Wanda Noah (682) 626-5519. This opportunity is also open to the RHCC men. You are greatly needed and wanted!

Dear Richland Hills Christian Church,

Thank you so very much for the WARM welcome to Jack C. Binion! I was sincerely blown away by your generosity and kindness. These gift

cards will help me in so many ways serve the students. Again, the biggest “Thank You” for your support.

Love, Lindsey Thompson

RightNow ConferenceOne of the best opportunities we have had, since I have been here, to get great teaching and resources for our church is here. The RightNow Conference will be held November 4-6 at Watermark Church in Dallas, and I am hoping to gather a team from our church to attend. This is paid for through our membership in this organization. If you are going to attend or even thinking about attending, send me your email address so I can get you a ticket. Deadline is October 8th. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity, and make the most of your time for God’s work. You will be blessed.

Let God Rewrite Your Story --from Ransomed Heart Ministries Daily Devotional

God is rewriting my story. My story is His story really, and one day He will tell it in all of its hidden splendor. I will get to hear His take on my days, His perception on what was going on underneath and behind the scenes. He will share with me the many ways He was working all things together for my good, and it will be marvelous to hear. One day He will tell you your story, too, and it will be glorious. God has been loving me, shielding me, and He has been doing the same for you. Though perhaps we do not see it yet as clearly as we one day will...

Let God begin to rewrite your story. Invite Him to show you your past through His eyes. Ask Him to surface good memories you have forgotten. He would love to do it. There is healing to be had there. There is a replacing of regret with mercy.
