Welcome to Cristo Rey!

Welcome! Our mission is to share the good news of eternal life through Christ with you and all members of our community.

We are both an established, yet new church. We have been serving Bell Gardens since the 1970s. At the same time, we recently began a partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod to revitalize our mission and ministry.

It’s a privilege to have you join us today. Please worship with us again very soon.

About Today’s Worship

Today we celebrate the great mission God has given his Church: to preach the good news of salvation to all the world. It is our special privilege this morning to welcome Missionary Timothy Flunker as our guest preacher.

Guide to Today’s Worship

Much of our liturgy is responsive between the pastor and the congregation. The pastor will lead the sections marked (P). The congregation is invited to join on the sections marked (C).

Children are always welcome to our worship services. If a child needs a break, a nursery is available in the back of our sanctuary.

Restrooms are in the back of our church. They are assessible by exiting the front door in the back of the sanctuary and walking through the hallway along the north side of our building.

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:

“Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”

13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” 14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”

And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore,

15 Por eso están delante del trono de Dios, y día y noche le sirven en su templo; y el que está sentado en el trono les dará refugio en su santuario. 16 Ya no sufrirán hambre ni sed. restored us as your forgiven children. In his name we pray:

inspired Word and to live according to it as children in your family.

hearts as your faithful people and use us to extend your kingdom of grace to others.

Keep our bodies and souls safe, and above all send the Holy Spirit to preserve our faith in Christ which leads to life everlasting where we will be delivered from all evil forever. But deliver us from evil.

Relying on Jesus, who cancelled our sins and made us acceptable in your sight, we pray with confidence. Amen. It shall be so.
