When playing in the outdoors, it is best to be prepared for when things don’t go as planned. This class will move beyond our introductory first aid class and get you some practical hands-on ex-perience with skills such as bandaging wounds, making splints, and more. Garden of the Gods is pretty well known for its roped rock climbing, but there are plenty of op-portunities for bouldering as well! Bouldering is a form of climbing that keeps things lower to the ground and uses minimal gear. It is a great way to challenge yourself mentally and physically, and is also a great option for those who want to climb but have a complicated relationship with heights! We will be heading out to the Snake Pit bouldering area at Garden of the Gods, where climbers of all skill levels can find challenging and fun bouldering problems.

The Rocky Mountain USAF Flight Training Center’s (aka, Aero Club) next Private Pilot Ground School starts Wednesday, October 2, 2019.

Private Pilot Ground School is an eight to nine week course. Cost for the Ground School is $650.

While the course is a Jeppesen online course, you will meet with the instructor once about every other week from 6-8 p.m. to go over course materials and have a chance to ask questions. Completion of this course prepares you to take the FAA Written Exam with the endorsement from the instructor and satisfies the FAA minimum requirement for the Ground School portion.

After you pass your FAA Written Exam, you will have two years to complete the flying portion and pass the Checkride with an FAA DPE for your Private Pilot License requirements.

SEASON SKI & SNOWBOARD RENTALSSeason Rentals are for skiers and snowboarders

who rent a specific set of equipment and keep it for the entire winter ski season. They tend to be frequent skiers. You can have your season rental equipment from October 28, 2019 – April 22, 2020.

WHEN: Starting Monday, October 28, customers and families can stop in to be fitted, pay and take the equipment on a first come first serve basis). While supplies last!

WHERE: Peterson ODR Bldg. 640 - during the business hours of 9:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday. Please note: Our rental counters close 30 minutes prior to close of business.

HOW: Please allow a minimum of 15 minutes to be properly fitted and sized for your season equip-ment. You will be required to pay in full and take your equipment the same day you are fitted. If you are a previous season rental customer, you still need to come in and sign a current 2019-2020 waiver form and fitting sheet.

You’ll need the right equipment to go skiing or snowboarding, and we can take care of that for you, too. If you see yourself buying a season ski pass and skiing regularly, then a season rental package is for you. If you are more of an occasional skier, then the
