You are SO predictable.

Gary Keil (Alpha Mu)Co-Coordinator, LDS [email protected]

You are SO predictable.

Those of you who attended the LDS event in Lexington heard something previous attendees heard: You’ll leave the event on a ‘high’ that will likely last a few weeks with you nearly returning to your ‘old self ’ within a few weeks.

The following graphic was taken from PLEI’s FaceBook page recently (https://www.facebook.com/PharmacyLeadershipAndEducationInstitutePlei) and is a fairly clear indicator that what was predicted is, indeed, what has happened to most of you:

These are just four indicators from a single site but they are, unfortunately, expected and clear metrics that our honeymoon phase is over and you’ve by-in-large resumed your previous routines. I’ve taken the liberty to change the numbers to be a percentage of the maximal values seen, so what is hidden is the specific magnitude of the peak vs current values. For example, our weekly total reach (defined by FaceBook as “The number of people who have seen any content associated with your page”) peaked at nearly 3700 folks! It currently sits at 142 and the vast majority of that can be accounted for by my visiting the site to post a few things, and the fact that I have a nice number of FB friends. Our engagement, stories and ‘talk’ have dropped precipitously. Again, as predicted.

Thankfully the value of the LDS program, and importantly you as a leader, are not fully captured by the above metrics. Indeed, it was also predicted, and is absolutely true by every metric we can measure, is that the baseline curves will NEVER fully return to their earlier values.

Whether or not you realize it, we’ve changed you and your mind (and your heart) FOREVER. There is no way you can fully forget our time together. You can’t forget what you experienced, learned or shared. Thus, everyone who has ever attended an LDS, or even heard previous LDS attendees speak about the program, are irreversibly and irrevocably changed.

What is also predicted is that a simple reminder will HELP you reconnect with the energy and excitement you clearly felt during LDS. It will fall flat within two to three days is you do not commit to cultivating any change, but it will grow and flourish if you tend to it and prioritize it.

We will continue to post various thoughts and topics on our FB page that will serve as gentle reminders of your experience. We’d appreciate your personal additions because you’ve already proven to us that you have some amazing things to say and share.

If you do commit to the positive changes that can happen by posting your thoughts on the FB page you will be a more effective leader of yourself and others.

Guaranteed, because all of this is so predictable.
