(502) 426-4504 Welcome to the October edition of the ServiceMaster Tri-Counties monthly newsletter! It’s official - FALL IS FINALLY HERE ! It’s time to put away the flip-flops, break out the hoodies and jack- ets, & start getting the house ready for that dreaded word - winter (I know...I said it!). To help get you started, we’ve put together some helpful tips on page 2 in our “Honey Do List”. But rest assured - this edition isn’t all business! That’s just not our style :) This month we’d also like to give a little love to our friends over at the Comedy Caravan, we have an exciting news section that EVERYONE should check out, and we have a great recipe on page 2 that’s definitely a crowd favorite! So pause your solitaire game, sit back for a minute, and strap in for the ride! And thanks for making us part of your day :) 24-Hour Emergency Disaster Restoration C omedy omedy omedy omedy omedy omedy omedy omedy C aravan aravan aravan aravan aravan aravan aravan aravan If you’ve never visited the Comedy Caravan, then it’s high time you experienced one of the funni- est nights of your life and take in one of Louisville’s true originals! Recipe O’ the Month: Char Chicken Tacos This month’s recipe comes from Men’s Health Magazine (it’s okay ladies - I promise it tastes just as good to you, too!) and just like last month’s it’s a quick & easy lunch idea. I actually made it for a group of friends the other night and it’s a great “Make Your Own” meal during the ball game, so enjoy & if you come up with your own variation, let me know! What you need: 12 oz boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts 1 avocado 1 minced garlic clove 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, plus more for garnish 2 limes (1 quartered) Salt and pepper Olive oil 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp chili powder or 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 4 jalapeno peppers 1 large, sliced yellow onion What to do: 1. Guacamole: In a mixing bowl, combine the avocado, garlic, cilantro, and juice of one lime.

Mix thoroughly and season with salt and pepper. 2. Preheat a grill on medium high. Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the chicken pieces and then rub them with

the cumin, and chili powder or cayenne. Sprinkle on some salt and pepper. Add the chicken, whole jalapenos, and onion rings to the grill. Cook the chicken for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until it's lightly charred and firm to the touch. Cook the jalapenos and onions for the same amount of time, turning them to make sure they caramelize evenly.

• Gutters and downspouts - Clean & inspect, check for proper drainage

• Chimney - Clean flue; repair any cracks in flue or any loose or

crumbling mortar

• Exterior caulking - Inspect for cracks

• Weather-stripping - Inspect and repair or replace

• Foundation - Check grading for slope away from foundation wall.

• Trees - Trim back all tree limbs away from roof (we all know what happens in ice storms).

• Call ServiceMaster if you have ANY water or fire damage!
