TO MOVEMENTDo You KNOW that the LORD JESUSD E M O N S T R A T E D M A N YMIRACLES, proving and pointing to HisDivinity? Revealing to us that HE IS GOD?YET the most convincing of all is the

TRANSFIGURATION! Yes, Jesus is GOD![ The 2nd Person of the Trinity ]

TRANSFIGURED vs MASQUERADEin order to go straight along a path,one must have some knowledge ofthe end of the road (as an archer willnot the arrow unless he first see thetarget) - borrowed. Since Christ hadencouraged his disciples to follow thepath of his suffering, he then revealed tothem the g_______________ whichwould follow upon this suffering.

It takes faith to accept and practice this lesson on discipleship, so six days later, the Lord gave adazzling proof that God indeed does transform suffering into glory. Jesus revealed His glory. Themessage was clear: first the suffering, then the glory. Moses represented the Law and Elijah theProphets, both of which find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ (Luke 24:25-27; Hebrews 1:1-2).Moses had died and his body was buried, but Elijah had been raptured to heaven (2 Kings 2:11).When Jesus returns, He will raise the bodies of the saints who died and will rapture the livingsaints (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Jesus will one day establish His glorious kingdom and fulfill themany promises made through the prophets. Christs sufferings and death would not prevent Godfrom establishing His kingdom; rather, by s______________ the sin problem in Gods world, thecross would help to make the kingdom possible. The word transfigured describes a change onthe outside that comes from the inside. It is the opposite of masquerade, which is an outward

change that does not come from within. Jesus allowed His glory to radiate through His wholebeing, and the mountaintop became a holy of holies! As you meditate on this event, keep in mindthat He has shared this glory with us and promised us a glorious home forever (John 17:22-24).According to Romans 12:1-2 and 2 Corinthians 3:18, believers today can experience this sametransfiguration glory. How wonderful it is to stay on the mountain and bask in His glory! Butdiscipleship means denying self, taking up a cross, and following Him; and you cannot do thatand selfishly stay on the mount of glory. There are needs to be met in the valley below. TheFather interrupted Peters speech and focused their attention, not on the vision, but on theW________ of God: Hear Him! The memory of visions will fade, but the unchanging Wordabides forever. Peter hinted that we need to behold the 3. No! It should be Jesus onlyHisWord, His Will, His Kingdom, and His Glory. This Vision the 3 had would make them say: HANGON ALWAYS, for the BEST IS YET TO COME to the rest of the 9 who were not there, when

suffering WOULD strike! MAIN POINT: Seeing His GLORY leads us to being aMOVEMENT for HIM! to the depth of our beholding [and listening to] of JESUSwill be the breadth of our going for Him D_______________ SECRET!

MARK 9:2-8 (The Message) 2-4 Six dayslater, three of them didsee it. Jesus took Peter,James, and John and led them up a highmountain. His appearance changed from theinside out, right before their eyes. His clothesshimmered, glistening white, whiter than anybleach could make them. Elijah, along withMoses, came into view, in deep conversationwith Jesus. 5-6 Peter interrupted, Rabbi, this isa great moment! Lets build three memorialsone for you, one for Moses, one for Elijah. Heblurted this out without thinking, stunned asthey all were by what they were seeing. 7Justthen a light-radiant cloud enveloped them, andfrom deep in the cloud, a voice: This is mySon, marked by my love. Listen to him. 8The

next minute the disciples were looking around,rubbing their eyes, seeing nothing but Jesus,only Jesus.
