OCTOBER 02 — 09 • 2020 Late last night, the country was in disbelief as we heard the news that President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19. We continue to pray for their safety and health. It is indeed a prayerful moment for the country. We all know that the coronavirus doesn’t care who you are or where you come from. Everybody is at risk of contracting this coronavirus. The virus is in control right now. It’s been a challenging year for all of us. With the President of the United States being infected with the coronavirus, we face a new pivotal moment with this virus. It is yet another wake-up call about the severity of the coronavirus pandemic. You will be hearing much news in the coming days about mask wearing, social distancing, gathering in large groups, contact tracing and COVID-19 symptoms. I want to assure you that at Beatitudes Campus, we are doing everything we know to do to ensure the health and safety of our residents, staff and community. We will continue to follow the advice of trusted scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Arizona Department of Health Services, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health, and our own data. Masks, social distancing and hand hygiene are the best tools in our toolbox right now. Mass testing is crucial because it helps us “chase” the virus, particularly with asymptomatic individuals. Since the beginning I have pledged to you that I would be totally transparent about what is happening at Beatitudes Campus and honest with you about the data. As we are beginning to reopen the campus little by little, we will keep our safety protocol firmly in place and will not bend to pressure about opening more and more unless our data and guidance from experts says it is safe. Last Tuesday, September 29, we tested 233 staff for COVID-19. Tuesday night, we were informed that a caregiver from Beatitudes at Home tested positive for COVID-19 according to their antigen test. Guidelines state that all positive antigen results require confirmation by a PCR test and we received the PCR confirmation today. The asymptomatic caregiver has been off work since Tuesday, September 29, and the Beatitudes at Home team is contacting any resident with whom the caregiver may have had contact with for the last two weeks. All other staff tested were negative. Please join me as we send our best wishes and prayers to the First Family and the White House staff. Please stay safe and healthy. WORLD WEDNESDAY IS BACK!: INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S DAY

The second Monday in October has traditionally been Columbus Day. As the world of political correctness marches on, we are finding that Columbus, deSoto, Cortez, deGama, Drake and others often brought more tragedy to the New World than previously thought; killing, raping, pillaging and taking slaves.

Did you know that Native Americans are called Indians because Columbus thought he had arrived in India?

Many cities and states, Phoenix included, have changed from Columbus Day to Indigenous People’s Day.

World Wednesday will take its first baby steps toward reopening our culturally inclusive celebrations of the incredible diversity that surrounds us these days. We are celebrating Native Americans with a special meal on Wednesday, October 14. A blended menu will bring us a Navajo Taco made with a filled Indian Fry Bread, a side of butternut squash, and a teabag of Okdeahgi’ – that’s Root Tea to the rest of you.

If you order about noon, you can dine while you watch the Channel 1-2 a special compilation of programs culminating in a performance by the World Champion Hoop Dancer and a trip through Canyon de Chelly.

I hope you join us.TECH TALKS AT TWO ON BEINSPIRED LIVE! 1-2
