Welcome to a refreshing Spring edition ofResort Highlights. What a fantastic year ithas been and it is hard to believe that theResort has already reached its 1stanniversary under RACV ownership. The Resort has had a busy few months withevents and activities including the start ofconstruction of the new Pizzeria, TrattoriaAmici, hosting the 17th World TransplantGames Golf event that attracted over 100players, our Community One Foundationreaching the $25,000 needed for our buddingguide-dog-in-training, Tyson and the Resortbecoming home to the first Gold CoastAcademy of Sport which will include thedevelopment of some of our local aspiring athletes.

2009 World Transplant Games

The 17th World Transplant Games Golf eventwas held at Royal Pines Resort on Thursday27 August. Over 100 players from across theworld competed in the event with all players'living proof' that organ and tissue donationworks and allows recipients to return to aproductive and fulfilling life.

Royal Pines Resort employee and heart-lung-liver transplant recipient, LucindaSimpson, was a special guest at the GolfPresentation at the conclusion of play.

In 2005 Lucinda needed a triple transplantwhich resulted in her becoming the firstwoman in the country to have a heart-lung-liver transplant, which included the donationof her still healthy heart.

The Resort would like to congratulate all those who participated in these Games.

Announcing a new dining experienceat RACV Royal Pines Resort

Pizza anyone? Trattoria Amici will be located adjacent to Kalinda Restaurant and is scheduled to open in late 2009. The new pizzeria restaurant will featuregourmet wood fire pizzas and a selection of hearty pasta dishes served in rustic and contemporary surrounds overlooking thechildren’s playground and gardens.

Construction on this project started in lateAugust and the new restaurant will have bothindoor and alfresco dining options for yourfamily to enjoy. We look forward to welcomingyou to the restaurant later in the year.
