1a. This session was beneficial.1b. Why or why not?

Agree I learned how to do several things on Haiku.Strongly

AgreeI love this very user friendly. Small # was great and instructor (Amanda) was incredible:patient didn't make us feel stupid and let us learn by doing

    StronglyAgree

I only knew how to sign in to Haiku and now I can create my own page, edit it, addpeople and much more. I am looking forward to the whole school using it.

2a. The content of this session can be applied to my work.2b. Why or why not?

Agree I feel as this session will be helpful to me once Haiku is fully integrated to EED.

StronglyAgreeAgree We are not using it in Pre-K yet but have been told that we will be.

3b. Please tell us anything else you want us to know.Amanda was very knowledgeable on the topic. She was extremely patient. I also feel the smallnumber of participants enabled us to receive more attention and hands on time working withHaiku.

Amanda did an amazing job letting us play around with it, she was patient and we learned a lot.

    Optional: I have learned...

how to create classes, polls, attach twitter account to Haiku, and add photos.

1a. This session was beneficial.1b. Why or why not?

Agree A lot of it I already knew because I'm in technology, but I found the Connect ContentBlocks helpful.

    StronglyAgree

This session was beneficial because I learned how to add my Twitter feed into myHaiku page, how to add class polls, and how to add wikis and discussion boards.

StronglyAgreeAgree I learned several different aspects of Haiku that I haven't used yet, but look forward to

    using in the future.Strongly

AgreeI feel more connected to the 5th grade and have a beter understanding of Haiku.

    StronglyAgree

I was so impressed with Melissa's presentation. she showed how she uses manyaspects of Haiku with her students and her classes.

    StronglyAgree

Melissa did a great job with her demo of the Haiku page. She answered all of thequestions and showed us tips and tricks to make our page exciting.

    Strongly

    Agree

We learned how to embed Twitter feeds, create hyperlinks, copy previous pages you

made, and much more! Melissa walked us through each of the steps and was able toanswer all of our questions.Strongly

AgreeI think people enjoyed the class. I taught them some deeper tricks about Haiku that arehelpful. I also asked them to tell me what they wanted to know more about.

    StronglyAgree

I learned SO much about Haiku in a short amount of time! Melissa was such a good, patient 'teacher' and it was 'student' led, everything she taught was recommended/requested by us teachers.

Also, the class size was perfect and I really enjoyed that it was a hands-on class. Ilearn best by doing, so instead of listening or watching a 'lesson' on technology andthen having to go back and do it later, I was able to do it right then. Wonderful!

2a. The content of this session can be applied to my work.2b. Why or why not?

    Agree

Agree The content of this session would be more applicable if my students all had personalcomputers or iPads. I can, however, gain access to the technology needed in order touse these aspects of Haiku.

    StronglyAgreeAgree

    StronglyAgreeStrongly

AgreeAbsolutely! I was so excited to see how I can use some of the advanced Haikufeatures in my classes.

    StronglyAgreeStrongly

AgreeWe practiced on our own Haiku pages, and we were able to gather ideas for things wecan do in our classes. (ie: Wiki projects)

Agree I think the class can use what I gave them right away.

    StronglyAgree

I am SO proud of my Haiku page and how much more technology savvy I feel in sucha strong technology environment:) I have already gotten compliments from parents and

students and I know I have only touched the surface with how much I have to learnabout technology/Haiku, so I look forward to follow-up sessions.

    StronglyAgree

I LOVED IT! I learned about new children's books and I immediately checked outseveral, read them to my class, and gave one to another teacher.

2a. The content of this session can be applied to my work.2b. Why or why not?

StronglyAgreeNeutral I enjoyed learning a lot about Polacco, but I could have benefited from some more

targeted ideas for instruction. Or even looking at a few texts only and thinking of waysas a group of how we could use those texts in our particular classrooms. Just morefocused instruction could have helped and been benficial

Agree There are not any French books, but there are alot of Spanish books to use

    StronglyAgree

I WILL come up here more and check out relevant books. We are so lucky to have sucha beautiful library and I want to use it more often. It is peaceful in here....

1a. This session was beneficial.1b. Why or why not?

Agree Both instructors were very engaging and did a great job of explaining the various apps. Ienjoyed seeing all of the examples as well.

    StronglyAgree

Love new ideas and new apps!

    StronglyAgree

Erin and Karen introduced us to several apps that were child-friendly and aimed towardtoe age of my students. The apps all have multiple uses.

    StronglyAgree

I learned about four different iPad apps that offer students opportunities to expressthemselves in different ways. Story Wheel focused on recording children telling stories. Iliked the fact that this could be used in a small group lesson, which would give thechildren a creative way to organize and sequence their thoughts.

StronglyAgree The information was clearly presented, and I will use these apps in my classroom.

    StronglyAgree

I really enjoyed learning about all of the different interactive apps that can be used inthe classrooms. I think that the children would really enjoy all of the apps as well.

    StronglyAgree

We use iPads in the classroom a lot .

    see above

    StronglyAgree

The emphasis was on using iPad apps for young children in the classroom. Once thechildren are taught how to use the apps, there are numerous possibilities for them usethe apps independently and interactively.

    Agree

Agree I will use these apps in my classroom, but I think it would be especially useful to haveaccess to Skitch for Evernote since we are already using Evernote to house digitalportfolios. One of the biggest obstacles to using iPads to record things for me is figuringout how to transfer saved projects into Evernote.

3b. Please tell us anything else you want us to know.

I would love to hear about more apps in the future!

I was pleased that the class was especially geared for teaching young children.

I am always interested in finding new ways to use the iPad in the classroom especially as itpertains to collecting save-able projects for the digital portfolio.

    Optional: I have learned...

I have learned many new ways to listen and record the thoughts and ideas of children.

    Optional: My question is...

Although introduced to Skitch, I would like to have another opportunity to practice using the app inconnection with our My Learning Portfolio.

1a. This session was beneficial.1b. Why or why not?

    Strongly

    Agree

I made a page to provide Book Fair Information to all 4th - 6th classes.

    StronglyAgree

Very helpful to "get my feet wet". Amanda was GREAT!! She did a great jobdemonstrating, answering questions, one-on-one help, giving us time to try things, etc.

    StronglyAgree

I was familiar with Haiku, but it is nice to have concrete things geared towards art that Ican use the website for in the future.

Agree This is beneficial if this is where the school is moving, but my students aren't even inHaiku. I love knowing how the 4-6th grade are using Haiku and this could replace myclass webpage, but it will probably not be that interactive for students if it is not verycompatible with the iPads.

    StronglyAgree

I learned a ton about Haiku and I had time to play on it!

    StronglyAgree

The session was great for beginners! I feel confident that I can now go home andexperiment with Haiku to learn more.

StronglyAgree Haiku is a useful and powerful tool for us.

2a. The content of this session can be applied to my work.2b. Why or why not?

StronglyAgree Other media information can be posted there.Strongly

Agree I want to start a music page for my classes.

It was nice to have the time to play around on the website and get familiar with thesettings. Having Amanda helped because she was right there to answer questions.

Neutral I think we are headed there, but we are not there yet.

StronglyAgree I actually added to my Haiku page during class.Strongly

AgreeHaiku is simple enough for students to use. I love the feature that allows teachers topoll students quickly. I can see many ways Haiku could be used in the classroom.

Agree It is easy to use and a great way to communicate with students and their parents.

3b. Please tell us anything else you want us to know.

Love the small class size for individual attention.

Amanda did an excellent job explaining and letting us play!

    It was great!

    Optional: I have learned...

much...will I remember it all? If I can get in again soon.

What Haiku is.How it can be used in the classroom. How 4-6th is using Haiku. What Haiku isWhat Haiku is used for

    Optional: My question is...

Is this going to replace class website pages? If so...I think the pages need to be more visuallyappealing and unique to the teachers:)If we are moving to this when will we know?

How other teachers use Haiku at Trinity?

1a. This session was beneficial.1b. Why or why not?

    StronglyAgree

I liked creating a level chart for my specific class, and then looking at others to getideas of how I can be better.

    StronglyAgree

This process helped me to look at the skill and break it down into managable pieces.

    StronglyAgree

Very beneficial to what I do everyday!

    StronglyAgree

I was able to apply the Level 1-4 concept to what I'm teaching now in grammar.

    StronglyAgree

It was good to actually practice this method-- how it feels to both TAKE a leveledassessment and CREATE the levels.

    StronglyAgree

It got me thinking. I like empowering students to know what is expected.

    StronglyAgree

I learned SO MANY new skills!

    Strongly

    Agree

The process promotes student engagement and motivation. There was a testimonial

about how students respond positively to clear goals and expectations.Strongly

AgreeI learned some basics about leveling up and see how it can be beneficial in myclassroom!

Agree It was a great exercise in thinking about the proficiency levels and where we would likeall students to be with a given skill. Practicing how to work backwards was important tosee how to break down the skill. I also liked the idea of not having "grades" but levelsand how that empowers students to learn to ask question.

    StronglyAgree

It was exactly what I needed. I have noticed that my kids have a hard time asking forhelp or knowing when they need help. Having "I can" statements will help them knowwhere they are and where they need to go.

    Agree

Agree As an assistant, I don't often teach a whole block from start to finish, but I may havethe opportunity; and maybe I can apply it to small pieces that I teach.

    StronglyAgree

I look forward to creating more of these!

    StronglyAgreeStrongly

AgreeI can use what I learned in the classroom TODAY!

    StronglyAgree

My Learning is greatly about students taking ownership of their learning through theanalysis of development (big picture). Being able to see the learning objective and self-assess progress towards the goal is a necessary skill for learning progressions (stepsalong the path).

    Strongly

    Agree

I can use it to better equip my students with meaningful questions to help them learn to

    their highest potential.StronglyAgreeStrongly

AgreeI want to start creating "I can.." statements with and for my kids. I think it is a great wayfor them to manage their own learning.

    StronglyAgree

It takes a different type of "doing" to make this concept clear to non-readers. It ispowerful to teach learners how to be in charge of their learning.

3b. Please tell us anything else you want us to know.

    very cool!

I loved this class! I felt very energized by the work.

If we can have time to create these statements with our teams and vertically.

It helps for me to have time to think & do. Evaluate & synthesize. It also really helps to have you

    there for guidance & advi

    Optional: My question is...

I wonder if this might make struggling readers be even more self aware of their struggles andeffect their self esteem even more?

I think most will want to "level up" but I worry about my struggling kids.
