A Word from the Pastor
Dear friends, In the early days of summer, we want to share all of the tremendous happenings at Ocean Crest. However, space will not permit us to do so. We encourage you to follow us on Facebook, check out our webpage, or drop by any of our locations if you have questions or want a full update. Moving into summer Violet and I are very encouraged by the mission progress we have seen in the past months and even more optimistic about the future. We celebrate with you every day and give thanks for your willingness to engage in the Mission! Keep up the great work, and remember – God loves you and so do we - Keith, Violet, Nicholas and Mackenzie
A Bright Light – Celebrating Our Team
OUR MISSION
June 2018
“Ocean Crest Community Church exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in Campbell River, Port Hardy and surrounding communities”
www.oceancrestchurch.org
Since our last Newsletter, Ocean Crest has been blessed with the opportunity to walk with team members as they celebrate major milestones. In May, we celebrated with a retirement luncheon BBQ for two of our thrift store employees who officially finished work on May 1st. Terri and Nikki, thank you for your service, congratulations on your retirement, enjoy and may you be blessed. L-R Lona - Manager, Terri (13 years and 7 months of service), Nikki (12 years and 9 months of service), Patricia - HR/Finance and Lt. Violet (CO).
On May 1st, we were trilled to welcome Tobyn Pearson as the newest member of the Ocean Crest Management team! Tobyn is the Ocean Crest Community Ministries Facility Manager, which is new position at Ocean Crest. In this new role, Tobyn will lead the development and oversee three main areas. Short and Long-term Maintenance; Health and Safety; and Environmental Management. Tobyn brings many years of leadership experience and has a passion for people! Join us in welcoming Tobyn to the Ocean Crest Team.
Celebrating Community Partnerships
Along with other members of our faith community, Ocean Crest continues its partnership with Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North! Heartfelt thank you to Ian Lamont, Stacey Stranaghan and their team for their ongoing commitment to provide nutritious lunches for the construction volunteers at the Hilchey Road build project in Campbell River, two days a week. Together we make a difference in the lives of others - you are truly a transforming influence!

June 24th marked the end of the 2018 Partners in Mission Campaign. Our goal was $6000, which was an increase of $1000 over previous years. Our final total was $6777! These funds ensure that the Army continues to be a beacon of hope in countries devastated by poverty, illness and natural disasters – countries where much of the population lives on less than $2 a day.
