Windows XP Pro or Windows 7 is required.Windows XP Pro is recommended. MMS has not been fully tested with Windows Vista or Windows XP Home edition. If you are using Windows ME, 98, or 95 you must upgrade your operating system. Windows 7 users should install MMS with administrator privileges.

Previous installations of MMS should be removed.Backup and remove any previous installations of MMS, ACSL, and MMS Simulation Tools before installing this version of MMS since it includes a version of ACSL and PC Split that may not be compatible with older versions. Do this by adding .old to the previous versions’ directory names (ex: MMS.old).

FORTRAN should be installed before MMS. If using an externally supplied FORTRAN Compiler, the MMS setup program assumes FORTRAN is installed in the default directory on Drive C. Although installing FORTRAN to the default drive and path is not required, it is highly recommended. Be sure to install FORTRAN as a user with administrator privileges, and select the option to register all environment variables for the system.

If using the USB security key, you must connect it AFTER installing MMS.If using the parallel port security key, you must connect it BEFORE installing MMS.

Additional Help

1 Insert CD.

2 Run SetupMMS.exe as administrator.

3 Choose “Install MMS”.

4 Choose “Configure MMS” (Wizard).

Security Key (USB or Parallel)The MMS Security Key is available as a parallel port or a USB drive. MMS and ACSL require the security key to be physically attached to your computer or a computer on your network. The security key protects the software and allows you to install MMS on any number of computers in your organization.

To Install USB Security Key:1. After MMS is installed, attach the key to USB port.2. Choose and complete the USB Dongle installation. Allow Windows to search for appropriate drivers.3. Windows will report successful installation of “USB Dongle — Software Protection Device” when complete.

To Install Parallel Security Key:1. Before MMS is installed, connect parallel port key.2. The “Configure MMS” Wizard during MMS installation will help you install security key drivers.
