Camp layout : The camp has sixteen cottage tents, common bathrooms and a sheltered gazebo (for dining and discussions).the tents are spacious enough to accommodate five participants. Occupancy is on 4/5 sharing, depending on group size. Bathrooms, separate for ladies and gents, have provision for hot water, and toilets are western style. Transportation: take the Munnar road from Kuttikanam via Nedumkandam and Pooppara. From pooppara, continue on the Munnar road for about 12 km till power house junction (near Club Mahindra Resorts).At power house junction, take a right turn to head to suryanelli. Suryanelli is about 6 km from Power house junction. You will cross ‘club Mahindra’ resorts (about 2 km) and continue straight thereafter another 4 km to reach suryanelli. Transportation: take the Munnar road from Kuttikanam via Nedumkandam and Pooppara. From pooppara, continue on the Munnar road for about 12 km till power house junction (near Club Mahindra Resorts).At power house junction, take a right turn to head to suryanelli. Suryanelli is about 6 km from Power house junction. You will cross ‘club Mahindra’ resorts (about 2 km) and continue straight thereafter another 4 km to reach suryanelli. Our representative will meet you at Suryanelli town (near Post office) and guide you to the camp.

Electricity: the camp has electric connection and a generator is kept stand by for evening hours. Being a camp, the lightning is minimal.therfore, personal torches are essential for use outside the tent during dark hours.

Communication: the camp has no landline connectivity. The area has mobile coverage of all major networks. Water: Mineral water for drinking

Medical Cover: the Harrison Malayalam hospital and a small clinic at suryanelli are about 15 minutes by jeep from the camp.

Weather: the weather is likely to be pleasant during the day, cool in the evenings and cold at nights. As with all hill stations, occasional light showers are possible. The day temperature could be around 26 degrees while the night temperature may fall below 16 degrees. Unpredictable variations and possible winds can make it colder on an odd day.

What to bring : Consideration the location, it is best to come prepared for some cooler temperatures. Participants are advised to bring the following:

Attire is “Resort casual” Jacket appropriate for expected temperatures Skirts or saris are inappropriate A Brimmed hat of some sort (and sun glasses)to keep the sun off your head

and face Comfortable shoes are must. Tennis shoes or any other sort of close-toed

shoes, which have good traction.no dress shoes or high heels. Bathroom slippers A pair of shorts/half pants would be comfortable for water activities Comfortable, loose fitting pants. You will be climbing and moving out in

ways that are best supported by clothing that moves with you. Raincoat All participants must have with them a personal torch. Ruck sack Water bottle. The camp provides mineral water from 20 liter dispensers.to

reduce plastic waste, we request participants to bring their own water bottles which can be filled in camp while going outside camp area for activities

Suitable plastic bag to carry back wet clothes Sunscreen lotion Camera(optional) Any medication you may be taking

Code of conduct: the students are expected to adhere to the same code of conduct as in the college campus. The following points are of particular significance:

Considering that the area of operation is remote and rural, respect of local culture is paramount.

As this is an outdoor based training programme, internationally accepted code of ‘Leave No Trace’ i9s strictly followed.

Western Ghats is one of the 34 biodiversity hotspots of the world. Particular precaution to prevent any damage to the biodiversity is essential.

Avoid disturbance to the local tribal population while moving around for various activities outside the camp.

Avoid any kind of disturbance to the wild life and birds in the area. Students are expected to maintain a high level of discipline and follow all

the rules of the camp. This is essential for the safety of everybody. Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the camp.
