CEMENTING e Obex annular casing packer is a plug-operated and mechanically-set packer designed for casing-to-casing applications. e Obex annular casing packer can be used as a standalone packer, or coupled with an ES II HD stage cementer for multiple-stage cementing operations. Obex annular casing packers are designed to be set inside cased holes to provide a high-pressure, gas-tight, casing-to-casing seal. is seal helps mitigate annular gas migration and/or supports the hydrostatic weight of annular well fluids above the Obex annular casing packer in wells with weak formation zones. e Obex annular casing packer operates by setting the packer elements and high-strength barrel slips with a plug and applied internal casing pressure. Setting is made possible by seating the displacement-type stage plug into the operating seat of the packer and applying casing pressure. e packer set is initiated at 650 psi and continues up to 2200 psi where a 100,000 pound over-pull at surface confirms the packer is properly set. A locking mechanism keeps the packer compressed from the initiation of setting until it is fully set. CEMENTING

The Obex™ annular casing packer is a plug-operated and mechanically-set packer designed for casing-to-casing applications. The Obex annular casing packer can be used as a standalone packer, or coupled with an ES II™ HD stage cementer for multiple-stage cementing operations.

Obex annular casing packers are designed to be set inside cased holes to provide a high-pressure, gas-tight, casing-to-casing seal. Obex™ annular casing packers are cased-hole annular barrier packers designed for sealing off the annulus as a secondary barrier other than cement. The tools can be used with or without multiple-stage cementing tools. These packers can serve as a secondary barrier to help reduce annular gas migration.

These packers help with low equivalent circulating density (ECD) conditions by preventing cement from falling down the backside during standard primary cementing operations and also help direct cement upward during the second stage of a multiple-stage cement job.
