After only two months, our residents have already done some remarkable work: In San Antonio Heights, residents have been collecting plastic bags and turning them into knitted sleeping mats that provide homeless families and seniors a soft, waterproof place to sleep. In Carmichael and Roseville, residents made beautiful Valentine's Day cards to deliver to children in the hospital. And residents at Oakmont of Chino Hills created beautiful no-sew blankets for the fire department to give out to seniors. April through June we will be focusing on helping animals without homes. Clear your mind and strengthen your spiritual connection.

Theresa is someone you might call a caretaker extraordinaire! She came to live at Oakmont about seven months ago - her first time living in California! After high school, Theresa worked on an assembly line at a brazier factory, but life soon changed when she needed to help take care of her sister and her children. When she and her late husband Don started their own family, life again changed. She and Don lived in Johnstown, Pennsylvania for much of their lives, including

much of their 66 year marriage. They then moved to Arizona, and lived there for 27 years. Theresa raised 4 sons, and took care of her mother, her mother-in-law, and several neighbors over time – never too busy to lend her time. She organized a women’s club in her neighborhood, and was known for baking treats and making candies during holiday seasons, and for her son’s football teams!
