The UNEVOC Inventory has been prepared within the framework of the International Project on Technical and Vocational Education (UNEVOC) by UNESCO's UNEVOC Implementation Unit in Berlin, which has recently become the base of UNESCO’s International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Bonn.

Preface Préface The first issue of the Inventory has been compiled by UNESCO-UNEVOC Berlin in September 1995 and presented to the UNEVOC International Advisory Committee at its third session in Paris, 02-04 October 1995.

The purpose of the Inventory is to inform decision-makers of the broad coverage UNEVOC has reached since its inception, and of its potential within the area of technical and vocational education.

The Inventory consists of two parts:

Part 1 indicates the involvement of countries and individuals in the various UNEVOC activities.

Part 2 provides an overview of activities that have been carried out within UNEVOC since its inception.

The UNEVOC Directory, which is being published under separate cover, provides supple-mentary information related to UNEVOC Centres and UNEVOC Associate Centres. It presents data on more that 200 specialised institutions in some 135 Member States that have so far joined the UNEVOC Network.

The Inventory gives evidence of about 170 countries as well as some 40 international and regional organisations that have so far been involved in UNEVOC activities.

This version of the UNEVOC Inventory has been updated last on 18 November 2000.

The International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training would appreciate receiving your comments, suggestions or any amendments to this present version, which will be taken into consideration in future editions.

La première version de cet Inventaire a été compilé par UNESCO-UNEVOC Berlin en septembre 1995 et présentée au Comité consultatif international de l'UNESCO durant sa troisième séance de travail à Paris, du 02 au 04 octobre 1995.

L'objet de l'Inventaire est d'informer les décideurs du large champ d'activité, UNEVOC a pu établir depuis sa création, ainsi que de son potentiel dans le secteur de l'enseignement technique et professionnel.

L'Inventaire consiste en deux sections:

Section 1 révèle la participation des pays et des particuliers dans les différentes activités UNEVOC.

Section 2 fournit un aperçu des activités entreprises par l'UNEVOC depuis sa création.

Le Répertoire UNEVOC, qui est publié séparé-ment, rassemble des informations supplémentaires sur les Centres UNEVOC et les Centres UNEVOC associés. Il contient des données de plus de 200 institutions spécialisées dans environ 135 Etats membre de l'UNESCO qui ont joint le réseau UNEVOC jusqu'à ce jour.

L'Inventaire témoigne que près de 170 pays ainsi que quelques 40 organisations internationales et régionales ont été impliquées dans les activités UNEVOC depuis.

Cette dernière version de l'Inventaire UNEVOC a été mise à jour le 18 novembre 2000.

Introduction Introduction The International Project on Technical and Voca-tional Education (UNEVOC) is a project of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cul-tural Organization (UNESCO) for the develop-ment and improvement of technical and voca-tional education in Member States. Following a resolution of UNESCO’s General Conference in 1991, the UNEVOC Project was launched in 1992.

UNEVOC works in three programme areas:

• Programme Area A deals with the inter-national exchange of experience and the promotion of studies on policy issues. It is devoted to system development in technical and vocational education.

• Programme Area B is devoted to strengthen-ing national research and development capabilities, that is to the development of infrastructures.

• Programme Area C concerns access to data bases and documentation in its broadest sense, in other words, with information, communi-cation and networking.

Le Projet international pour l'enseignement technique et professionnel (UNEVOC) est un projet de l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'éducation, la science et la culture (UNESCO) visant au dévelop-pement et à l'amélioration de l'enseignement technique et professionnel dans les États membres. Le projet UNEVOC a été lancé en 1992 à la suite d'une résolution de la Conférence générale de 1991 de l'UNESCO.

L'UNEVOC opère dans trois champs de programme:

• Le champ de programme A a pour objet l'échange international d'expérience et la promotion d'études sur des questions de politique générale. Il est consacré au développement des systèmes d'ensei-gnement technique et professionnel.

• Le champ de programme B est consacré au ren-forcement des capacités nationales de recherche et développement, c'est-à-dire au développement des infrastructures.

• Le champ de programme C porte sur l'accès aux bases de données et à la documentation au sens le plus large du terme, c'est-à-dire sur l'information, la communication et le réseau agissant.

This present Inventory records UNEVOC activi-ties, but also the involvement of individuals, Member States, governmental and non-govern-mental organisations in these activities.

It thus completes other information on UNEVOC activities, such as the quarterly UNEVOC INFO, the UNEVOC Directory and the various publica-tions and documents. The most recent list of documents may be obtained from UNESCO-UNEVOC Berlin.

Cet Inventaire actuel enregistre les activités UNEVOC, aussi bien que la participation des parti-culiers, des Etats membres, des organisations gouvernementales et non gouvernementales dans les activités UNEVOC.
