U C I P R O B L DISASTER SITE AGREEMENT
THIS AGRE1:MENT is made and entered into on the day of
, 199- by and between SULLIVAN COUNTY, TENNESSEE,
hereinafter reierred to as "Sullivan County" and the SULLIVAN
COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION, hereinafter referred to as the "Board of
Education".
WHEREAS, lSulllvan County and the Board of Education each
maintain certaln buildings and facilities and certain equipment
such as telephones and computers, and
WHEREAS, both parties to this Agreement provide services and
are accountable to the citizens of Sullivan County, Tennessee: and
WHEREAS, in the event of a catastrophic occurrence which
dleabled the f~cllitles or equipment of either of the parties to
thls Agreement, it is appropriate that the other party render such
reasonable assistance and accommodation as may be available and
appropriate to enable the other party to continue to provide
services to the extent feasible: and
WIIEREAS, the parties desire to enter into an agreement I
recognizing their intention to cooperate to make facilities and
equipment available insofar as reasonable in the event of such a
catastropl,c:
Now, 'rHEI?EFOIIE, in cotlsi~leration of the aforestated premises,
and for other good and vnlu~ble considoration, the sufficiency of
whlch is hereby acknowledged, the parties do agree as follows:
1. In the evetit of a catastrophic occurrence, such as a
1 natural disastet, acts of war, fire, flood and similar
! circumstatices, each of the parties to this Agreement agrees to make I
reasonable efforts to make buildings, facilities, and equipment
whlch ore necessary, available to the other party.
2. It is understood and agreed that each party shall have the
first priorily in the use of buildings, facilities and equipment
whlcli are normally utilized and controlled by that party. The
other party shall utilize such buildings, facilities and equipment
whlch may be reasonably made available. Such use shall be
temporary and short-term until other arrangements can be made.
3 . Each party pledges to carry out its undertakings pursuant
to this agreement in good faith for the purpose of the continuation
of services 'o the citizens of Sullivan county.
