NVivo is a software package for the analysis of qualitative data, such as transcripts of in-depth interviews, focus groups and �eld notes. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce participants to the NVivo 8 workspace, provide them with an overview of the key features and give them hands-on experience with this software. Participants will learn how to prepare their qualitative data in various formats (e.g. text, videos, audios, images) for analyses with NVivo 8, create their projects, create and apply various types of coding, explore their �ndings with basic query tools, produce various types of outputs, and visualize the their data through models and charts etc. The workshop will bene�t those who have limited knowledge of NVivo as well as those who have some experience using the software but would like to expand their knowledge of its capabilities.

About the speaker/facilitator Annie Cheng, an listed QSR international trainer, is currently working for a longitudinal research at the Hong Kong Institute of Education of using NVivo 7 and NVivo 8. Annie has been conducting training and providing consultation for using the software. She has actively introduced NVivo to researchers and provided advice and support for NVivo users.
