About ICNC-2019Welcome to IAPEN Clinical Nutrition Congress and 6th Annual Meeting of IAPEN, 9th and 10th February 2019, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
The Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN) is an organiza-tion in the �eld of parenteral and enteral nutrition and promotes basic research, clinical research, advanced education, organization of consensus statements about clinical care and quality control.
The IAPEN Clinical Nutrition Congress (ICNC-2019) is hosted and organised by IAPEN – Mumbai Regional Centre on 9th and 10th February 2019, Mumbai, India.
In order to promote Advanced Education in Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition and to facilitate the academic pursuits of more number of Nutrition Support Clinicians, Clinical Nutritionists, Nurses and Pharma from the educational institutions, hospitals and health care settings, IAPEN announces Clinical Nutrition Congress (ICNC-2019) at Mumbai, India.
Nutrition is an integral part of healing and maintenance of health. The conference was designed for medical, nursing & nutrition profes-sionals who were interested in learning nutrition assessment tools, early enteral nutrition, approaches to treat critically ill neuropatients using parenteral nutrition, enteral nutrition, immunonutrition, disease speci�c nutrition. In addition, malnutrition may contribute to increased morbidity through its e�ects on immune function, post surgical infection, requirement of ventilator support, increased length of stay in the ICU and delayed wound healing. Although other factors in�uence post transplant outcomes, nutritional status is the only reversible factor. This conference of IAPEN will provide such a forum for multidisciplinary interaction on Clinical Nutrition.
The conference also consists of paper presentation sessions. The theme of the conference is "Nutrition Intervention Strategies - Indian Hospital Settings" It is the unmissable event of the year for anyone who works or has an interest in Advanced Clinical Nutrition

clinical nutrition conferences including Surgical Conference with “ERAS Theme” to bring together Surgeons all over India and Digestive Disorders Conference to bring together Gastroenterologists.
2013 - Surgical Nutrition
IAPEN 1st Annual Meeting and Conference on Malnutrition with theme “Prevention and Manage-ment of Malnutrition : Challenges and Solutions” was successfully done in Bangalore, India with over 300 participants all over India.
2012 - Malnutrition
IAPEN has announced ten Centres for Advanced Learning in Clinical Nutrition to promote lifelong learning and to mentor Nutrition Support Clinicians and Clinical Nutritionists throughout India. With the help of the Centres and associated sub-centres, IAPEN is planning to train about 2 Lakh Nutrition support Clinicians for 2 to 3 years and guide them until they get placement.
2018 - IAPEN Learning Centres
IAPEN has conducted 20 workshops throughout India, Bangladesh and Nepal to bring together Nutrition Support Clinicians and Clinical Nutritionists. About 1500 Doctors, Dietitians and other healthcare providers participated in this event and made it a grand success.

About IAPENThe Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN) is an organization in the �eld of parenteral and enteral nutrition and promotes basic research, clinical research, advanced education, organization of consensus statements about clinical care and quality control.
IAPEN was registered under Society Registration Act, Government of India. IAPEN logo was protected under Trademarks Act 1999, Government of India.
IAPEN is the additional link to the already existing chain consisting of American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN), European (ESPEN, BAPEN), Australian (AusPEN), Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Asia (PENSA) and South African (SASPEN) societies.
IAPEN has aggressively conducted various activities throughout India (From Kerala to Punjab, Indore to Kolkata) to bring lifelong learn-ers in advanced clinical nutrition from 2012. Currently in 2017, IAPEN could able to form a strong team of experts and lifelong learners in clinical nutrition.
We strongly believe that in the coming years, these experts will play a major role in strengthening the current status of Clinical Nutri-tion in India and build a strong foundation and a path for the future generations to follow.
IAPEN has currently 500 Life Members throughtout India and is planning to expand its horizons by annoucing India Malnutrition Week by 2020 on Second Week of February of every year marking the Visit of American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN), President to 6th IAPEN Annual Meeting.
ASPEN started Malnutrition Awareness Week in 2012 for the �rst time in the world with two webinars and a podcast. Every country showed its devotion and sincere commitment towards “Fight Against Malnutrition” in hospitals and community by announcing Malnutrition Weeks and related awareness programs. ASPEN has expand their content and reach since 2012. In 2014, ASPEN received a Certi�cate of Special Recognition from US Senator Benjamin Cardin of Maryland for Malnutrition Awareness Week. In 2015, this award winning program became a part of the National Health Observances Calendar. Today it is supported by more than 47 organizations who share our educational opportunities and messages with over 1 million healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
IAPEN is dreaming of such kind of commitment towards “Fight Against Malnutrition” by 2020 in “IAPEN Malnutrition
Week” celebrated every second week of February.

On behalf of the The Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN), I would like to invite you to the IAPEN Clinical Nutrition Congress - 2019 (ICNC-2019) and 6th Annual Meeting of IAPEN which will be held in Mumbai on 9th-10th, Feb 2019.
With the theme “Nutrition Intervention Strategies - Indian Hospital Settings" we want to express our interest to explore new topics in clinical nutrition and application of various Nutrition Intervention techniques in di�erent Indian clinical settings. I am happy that, IAPEN's long journey from 2012 to establish a multidisciplinary society devoted to the study of metabolic problems associated with acute diseases and their nutritional implications and management is taking new heights.

The Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN) is honored to welcome Nilesh Mehta, MD, The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, 42nd President, USA to the IAPEN Clinical Nutrition Congress -2019 (ICNC-2019) and 6th Annual Meeting of IAPEN, 9th-10th, Feb 2019, Mumbai, India.
Dr Mehta is currently Director, Critical Care Nutrition, Associate Medical Director, and Director of Quality and Outcomes in the Medical Surgical ICU, Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. He is Associate Professor in Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School. Dr Mehta’s clinical and research focus is on metabolic and nutritional management of critically ill children and its impact on recovery. He has led large international studies, and clinical and translational research in the �eld of Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition. Dr. Mehta has over 100 publications, and is the co-editor of the only textbook in this �eld. In 2015, Dr. Mehta received the ASPEN Stanley J. Dudrick Research Scholar Award which honors m id-career investigators who have demonstrated excep-tional research productivity and the potential to continue to contribute to the �eld of nutrition therapy.
As an active member for 10 years, Dr. Mehta’s contribution to ASPEN includes serving as Chair of the Pediatric Malnutrition De�nition Working Group, Chair of the Corporate Scienti�c Advisory Council, Co-Chair of the Research Workshop, Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and ASPEN, Director on the ASPEN Board of Directors, Board Liaison to the Pediatric Intestinal Failure Section and Pediatric Section, and Chair of the SCCM/ASPEN Working Group for Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition Guidelines.
