Pre-OperativeInform patient the basic needs to do before surgery such as withholding food and fluids and for bowel preparation.Assist patient to put on the hospital gown and let the patient lie on the exam table on top of a soft, water-filled cushion

Post-operativeMonitor vital signs for early indications of infection; infections should be treated with the appropriate antibioticagent before efforts are made to dissolve the stone.Monitor amount, color and clarity of urine output.Maintain placement and patency of urinary catheters.2.
