Oseopahy:

National University o Medical Sciences (NUMSS) offers a our yearsull time online on-demand program in osteopathy leading to a doctoro osteopathy (DO) degree and a 3 years ull time online on-demandbachelor o science (BSc) in osteopathy. Students will study at home,without the need to attend classeson campus.

Tere is a week-long optional prac-tical training classes held in Ma-

drid and oronto or students whowish to practice their techniquesunder supervision o an osteopath. What sets the osteopathy programo NUMSS apart is that we place heavy emphasis on the clinical side oosteopathy. We aim to graduate students that are highly competent inosteopathic medicine. We aim to graduate the most successul osteo-paths. As such we prepare our students or the real world by teachingthem subjects that have practical applications in the real world.

Subjects such as disability evaluation, unctional abilities evaluation,

decompression therapy, orthotic casting, support hose fitting, ortho-paedic bracing, work and auto accident rehabilitation, joint specific ex-ercises, acute pain management & clinical ergonomics amongst others.NUMSS students have options to complete their premedical requisitesconcurrently while attending the doctor o osteopathy program. Teywill graduate with dual degrees in osteopathy (B.Sc., DO).

Te Scope o Practice o Athletic Terapists is very similar to physi-otherapists and include the prevention, immediate care, and recon-ditioning o musculoskeletal injuries. Prevention includes muscu-loskeletal and postural evaluation, equipment selection, fitting andrepair, warm-up, conditioning programs, prophylactic or support-

ive taping, and adapting to the activity environment and acilities.Te provision o on field immediate care o athletic injuries byAthletic Terapists include: injury assessment, basic emergency liesupport, recognition and management o acute traumatic neuro-logical dysunction, provision o first aid, preparation or entranceinto appropriate health caredelivery systems, or, whereappropriate, utilization o tech-niques acilitating a sae returnto participation.

Athletic Terapists assessinjuries and conditions, usescontemporary rehabilita-tive techniques, therapeuticmodalities, sof tissue mobilization, physical reconditioning, andsupportive strapping procedures to promote an environmentconducive to optimal healing in preparing the individual or saereintegration into an active liestyle.

Te Athletic Terapists, in cooperation with all perormanceenhancement personnel, and members o the health care deliveryteam, are integral parts o a total service to maximize the peror-mance and welare o the individuals. Tis policy shall not preclude any equity measures implemented by NUMSS or as re-quired by law. Tere shall be no harassment or sexual harassment exercised by or againstan individual.

Every member o the National University o MedicalSciences community has the right to study, work and

conduct his or her activities in an environment ree odiscrimination and harassment, and supportive o aca-demic achievement, dignity, and sel esteem. NUMSS iscommitted to providing and maintaining such an envi-ronment through its policies, regulations and educationprograms.

Non Discriminaion



Access to applicant or student inormation by a third party is pro-hibited except where signed consent rom the applicant or student isprovided. Te signed consent will allow or access to inormation but

cannot authorize the delegation by the applicant and/or student ordecisions to be made on his or her behal by any other party.

As an example, a student may authorize in writing that a parentreceive the grades o the student or obtain the status o a student en-rolled at National University o Medical Sciences. Te authorizationcannot be used or the parent to make decisions with respect to suchmatters as appeals or financial arrangements without the student be-ing present and agreeing to the decision.

A third party who has received signed authority on behal o an ap-plicant and/or student may only advocate on behal o the student inthe presence o that student. Tis policy applies only to persons notdirectly involved in the application or education process.

Privacy Policy

All students enrolled at Na-tional University o MedicalSciences are prohibited rom

providing treatment, advice,or acting in a clinical man-ner, as it relates to a healthproession or which he orshe is not licensed or regis-tered, with any person unlessunder the supervision anddirection o a clinician.

Each student enrolled at NUMSS is strictly prohibited rom practicing and/or holding himsel/hersel out as a health care practitioner.

Students are subject to the rules, regulations and policies established romtime to time by NUMSS. Te student is subject to the laws, regulations andconduct set out by NUMSS and the jurisdiction they reside.

Failure to comply with this regulation may lead to disciplinary action, whichmay include expulsion or suspension rom NUMSS, and urther civil, ad-ministrative and/or criminal action being commenced against the offending

student.

Consent o an individual is not justification or inappropriate conduct by astudent. A student with a concern or question regarding the above policy isadvised to contact the registrar to ascertain NUMSS’s position with respectto any potential issue.

Professionalism

Te National University o Medical Sciences (NUMSS) assumes noliability whatsoever or direct or indirect loss or damage suffered or

incurred by any student or third party as a result o matters beyondits control, including but not limited to delays, interruption, suspen-sion or cancellation o services, courses or classes, or other academicand clinical activities where the interruption or cancellation iscaused by natural disasters, fire, water, thef, strike, lockout, protest,government action, civil unrest or disobedience, financial exigency,inability to procure materials or trades, utility interruptions, or dam-age to NUMSS property.
