Gospel: luke 23; 35-43 As we celebrate the last Sunday of the Church year, Luke's Gospel leaves us with a "holy picture" to remember and cherish. It is a crucifixion scene. Above the head of Jesus, a sign proclaims: "This is the king of the Jews." The soldiers and most of the crowd think that the sign is a bad joke. But a criminal who is hanging in a cross next to Jesus senses the truth about him. "Remember me when you enter upon your reign," he prays. And the King responds, "This day you will be with me in paradise." 1.) " This is the kind of king Jesus was and is. Now he is a Risen King, and we rise with him each day? Every time we respond to grace in our lives, every time we imitate our king by overcoming evil with good. What can you do this week to be like Christ the King in love, in forgiveness, in generosity, in works of peace and justice?

Evangelio: lucas 23: 35-43 Celebramos hoy el último domingo del año litúrgico, el Evangelio de Lucas nos deja con una "santa imagen" para recordar y atesorar. Es una imagen de la crucifixión. Sobre la cabeza de Jesús una proclamación: "Este es el rey de los judíos." Los soldados y la multitud pensaban que la señal era un chiste de mal gusto. Pero un criminal crucificado al lado de Jesús se dio cuenta de la verdad. "Recuérdame cuando estés en tu reino," pidió. Y el Rey le respondió: "Hoy mismo estarás conmigo en el paraíso." 1.) Este es el rey de reyes, ahora resucitado y nosotros resucitamos diariamente con él, cada vez que respondemos a la gracia en nuestras vidas, cada vez que imitamos a nuestro rey venciendo el mal con el bien. ¿Qué puedes hacer esta semana para ser como Cristo un Rey en amor, perdón, generosidad y trabajo de justicia y paz?

Pastor’s Message: Our Lord Christ the King: This Sunday we are honoring Christ the King, a King who hum-bled himself in order to raise us to the status of children of God, a king who suffered the curelest of deaths so we can have an eternal life of happiness when we go home to our Christ. Christ our King is always with us, helping us in our journey to heaven. Serving God is a privilege, not a duty, for the Christian who realize what God has done for us and who appreciate what a future reward God has in store for him. The Solemnity of Christ the King is not just a summary of our lives as Christians. On this feast; let us resolve to give Christ the central place in our lives and to obey his commandment of love by sharing our blessings with all his needy children. Let us conclude the church year by asking the Lord to help us serve the King of Kings as he presents himself in those reaching out to us. My special thanks to 5 West and 5 East (5th grade at School of the Epiphany) for sharing their allowances to help the victims of the calamities in the Philippines. Mensaje del Párroco: Cristo Rey Este domingo celebramos la fiesta de Cristo Rey. Este es el Rey que se humilló asi mismo para poder elevarse a la altura de los hijos de Dios. Es el Rey que sufrió la más dura de las muertes para que noso-tros podamos alcanzar la felicidad y la vida eterna cuando vayamos a nuestro hogar con Cristo. Cristo Rey siempre está con nosotros, ayudándonos a alcanzar el camino al cielo. Cuando nos damos cuenta de todo lo que Dios hace por nosotros y cuando reconocemos la recompensa final que Él nos tiene preparada; sabemos entonces que servir a Dios no es un deber sino un privilegio. La festividad de Cristo Rey no es solo para evaluar nuestra vida co-mo Cristianos. En esta fiesta coloquemos a Cristo en el centro de nuestras vidas, obedeciendo sus mandamientos de amor, y compar-tiendo sus bendiciones con todos sus hijos que tanto necesitan de Él. Cerremos el Año Litúrgico pidiendo a Dios que nos ayude a servir al Rey de Reyes quien se presenta con sus brazos abiertos a todos noso-tros. Mi agradecimiento especial a los alumnos del 5to grado de la Escue-la (5W y 5E) que honraron a Cristo Rey compartiendo sus ahorros donándolos para las víctimas de las catástrofes en las Filipinas. St. Paul of the Shipwreck Archdiocesan Deanery Two: St. Paul of the Shipwreck invites you to a Morning of Reconciliation-the Sacrament of Penance. Already Possessed by our Future. In the “Spirit” ( a time to reconcile with oneself, a time to reconcile with God, a time to rec-oncile with each other), we will have Prayer, Meditation, Song Scripture, and Confession. Parish Novena 2013: Our Parish’s Spiritual Life Commis-sion is preparing for the coming of

our Lord. We will be having Advent Novena Masses from December 15th until the 23rd at 7:00pm. We hope you can join us each and every evening for a time of prayer and reflection. Also, after each mass we will have fellowship in the cafeteria.

Thanksgiving Day Masses:

On Thursday, November 28 we will have masses at 6:30am and 9:00am for Thanksgiv-ing Day. The Parish Office will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 & 29. Christmas Gifts:

With unemployment and poverty in-creasing, many families may not be able to afford Christmas gifts for their

children this year. If you need help with presents for your children, please phone

the parish office and leave your name, phone number and address. Please also include the names, ages, genders and sizes of your children before November 27. Our St. Vincent de Paul society will deliver the gifts from the Giving Tree before Christmas. School of Religion: There will be no School of Religion classes on Saturday, November 23 and 30. Please Keep our Beautiful Church Clean!!!! As you may have observed, a few volunteers have been hard at work landscaping and power washing the church and school grounds. Please help keep the premises clean by depositing litter, cigarette butts and gum in the proper recepta-cles. Thank you for your help with this matter. Canned Food Donations: Valente Marini Perata & Co Funeral Home have many friends here in the neighborhood who are from the Philippines and who have loves ones in Tacloban and the surrounding areas. In effort to help the survivors of this truly devastating ty-phoon they have a deposit box for canned food donations at Valente Marini Perata & Co main lobby at 4840 Mission Street, SF. Donaciones para las Filipinas: Las Filipinas necesitan de nuestras oraciones y de nuestra colaboración. Las víctimas del te-rremoto de Bohol (de donde viene el Padre Tungol), Tacloban y del tornado Yolanda que arrasó otras provincias necesitan de nuestra ayuda. Estaremos aceptando sus donaciones después de todas las misas en la puerta de la iglesia. Allí habrán personas que responderan todas sus preguntas acerca de estas tragedias. Tambien puede dejar sus donaciones en la funeraria Valente, Marini & Perata. Todas las donaciones serán enviadas a las Filipinas. Gra-cias por su generosidad.

Regalos de Navidad: Este año hay muchas familias que no podrán proveer regalos para sus hijos

debido al incremento en la pobreza y desempleo. Si usted es una de las

personas que necesitan ayuda para com-prar regalos para sus hijos, llame a la oficina parroquial antes del 27 de noviembre y deje su nombre, dirección y teléfono, así como el nom-bre, sexo, talla y edad de sus hijos. Los miem-bros de San Vicente de Paul se harán cargo de repartir los regalos del Árbol de regalos” antes de la Navidad”.

Próximos Eventos: Horario de Misas para el Dí a de Acción de Gracias: El jueves 28 de noviembre tendremos misas por el Día de Acción de Gracias a las 6:30am y 9:00am.
