The GS2994 and GS2993 are high-speed BiCMOS integrated circuits designed to equalize and restore signals received over 75Ω coaxial cable. The devices

are designed to support SMPTE 424M, SMPTE292M and SMPTE 259M, and is optimized for performance at 270Mb/s, 1.485Gb/s and 2.97Gb/s. The GS2994

and GS2993 feature DC restoration to compensate for the DC content of SMPTE pathological test patterns.

The Carrier Detect output pin (CD) indicates whether a valid input signal has been detected. It can be connected directly to the SLEEP pin to enable automatic

power-down upon loss of carrier. A voltage programmable threshold, which can be changed via the SQ_ADJ pin, forces CD high when the input signal

amplitude falls below the threshold. This allows the GS2994 and GS2993 to distinguish between low-amplitude SDI signals and noise at the input of the

device.

The equalizing and DC restore stages are disengaged when the BYPASS pin is HIGH. No equalization occurs in Bypass mode. The GS2994 and GS2993 include

a gain selection pin (GAIN_SEL) which, when tied HIGH, compensates for 6Db flat attenuation. The differential outputs can be DC-coupled to Gennum 3.3V

cable drivers and reclockers and to industry-standard 1.2V, 2.5V and 3.3V using the VCC_O pin for the GS2994 and the OP_CTL pins for the GS2993.

The LTC®4425 is a constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger designed to charge a 2-cell supercap stack from either a Li-Ion/Polymer battery, a USB port, or a 2.7V to 5.5V current-limited supply. The part operates as an ideal diode with an extremely low 50mΩ on-resistance making it suitable for high peak-power/low average power applications. The LTC4425 charges the output capacitors to an externally programmed output voltage in LDO mode at a constant charge current, or to VIN in normal mode with a smart charge current profile to limit the inrush current until the VIN to VOUT differential is less than 250mV. In addition the LTC4425 can be set to clamp the output voltage to 4.9V or 5.4V.

Charge current (VOUT current limit) is programmed by connecting a resistor between PROG and GND. The voltage on the PROG pin represents the current flowing from VIN to VOUT for current monitoring. An internal active balancing circuit maintains equal voltages across each supercapacitor and clamps the peak voltage across each cell to a pin-selectable maximum value. The LTC4425 operates at a very low 20μA quiescent current (shutdown current <3μA) and is available in a low profile 12-pin 3mm × 3mm DFN or a 12-lead MSOP package.

The SP336 is a highly integrated multiprotocol serial transceiver that contains both

RS-232 and RS-485/422 drivers and receivers. The SP336 can be configured into eight

operating modes including RS-232-only (4Tx/4Rx), RS-485/RS-422-only (2Tx/2Rx) full

or half duplex, two RS-232/RS-485/RS-422 mixed-modes, two shutdown modes and a

diagnostic loop-back mode. All RS-485 receivers feature high input impedance, which

The LTC®3865/LTC3865-1 are high performance dual synchronous step-down DC/DC switching regulator controllers that drive all N-channel synchronous power MOSFET stages. A constant frequency current mode architecture allows a phase-lockable frequency of up to 770kHz. Power loss and noise are minimized by operating the two controller output stages out of phase.

OPTI-LOOP® compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of output capacitance and ESR values. Independent track/soft-start pins for each controller ramp the output voltage during start-up. Current foldback limits MOSFET heat dissipation during short-circuit conditions. The MODE/PLLIN pin selects among Burst Mode® operation, pulse-skipping mode, and continuous inductor current mode. The output voltages can be precisely programmed by pin strapping or external resistors.

The LTC3865/LTC3865-1 are available in low profile (5mm × 5mm) 32-pin QFN and 38-Lead thermally enhanced TSSOP packages.

The SteelVine Series 3 Core storage processor extends

the capabilities of PC motherboards, DVR devices, and

consumer electronics by adding eSATA and advanced

storage features on a single chip that easily integrates

with existing designs via a SATA connection. Advanced

features include enhanced sector recovery and automatic

data repair to provide higher levels of protection for your customer’s critical

data. Management parameters can be customized using the Manufacturing

Utility or through customer applications built using the

SiI5923 Software Development Kit. SiI5923 storage

processor supports JBOD and the following RAID modes:

FAST (RAID 0) and SAFE (RAID 1). RAID mode configuration

can be accomplished through a System Management

Bus (SMBus)-based GUI or strap pins for true software-

free implementation. The SiI5923 reduces your power

The MIC3201 is a hysteretic step-down, constant-current, High-Brightness LED (HB LED) driver capable of driving up to four, 1A LEDs. It provides an ideal solution for interior/exterior lighting, architectural and ambient lighting, LED bulbs, and other general illumination applications.

The MIC3201 operates with an input voltage range from 6V to 20V. The hysteretic control gives good supply rejection and fast response during load transients and PWM dimming. The high-side current sensing and on-chip current sense amplifier delivers LED current with ±5% accuracy. An external high-side current sense resistor is used to set the output current.

The MIC3201 offers a dedicated PWM input (DIM) which enables a wide range of pulsed dimming. A high switching frequency operation up to 1MHz allows the use of smaller external components minimizing space and cost.

The MIC3201 operates over a junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is available in an 8-pin ePad SOIC package.

The LT®3032 is a dual, low noise, positive and negative low dropout voltage linear regulator. Each regulator delivers up to 150mA with a typical 300mV dropout voltage. Each regulator’s quiescent current is low (30μA operating and <3μA in shutdown) and well-controlled in dropout, making it an excellent choice for battery-powered circuits.

Another key feature of the LT3032 is low output noise. Adding an external 10nF bypass capacitor to each regulator reduces output noise to 20μVRMS/30μVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth. The LT3032 is stable with minimum output capacitors of 2.2μF. The regulators do not require the addition of ESR as is common with other regulators.

Internal protection circuitry includes reverse output protection, current limiting, and thermal limiting. Each regulator is offered as an adjustable output device with an output voltage down to the ±1.22V reference voltages.

The LT3032 is available in a unique low profile 14-lead 4mm × 3mm × 0.75mm DFN package with exposed backside pads for each regulator, allowing optimum thermal performance.

By offering a 144Mbit density SRAM, GSI provides a memory upgrade path for 72Mbit designs. Existing SRAM memory controllers can be reused with 144Mbit densities, which make for an easy design decision. With the simple addition of an address signal you get double the density. The same package is used for both the 72Mbit and 144Mbit—15 mm x 17 mm 165 FBGA—which eliminates any footprint issue.

The 144Mbit family of SigmaQuad-II+ and SigmaDDR-II+ SRAMs achieve higher operating frequencies, in part, because they are designed with a longer read pipeline. When described in terms of cycles of latency, Type-II SRAMs demonstrate a 1.5 cycle read latency, while Type-II+ SRAMs are offered with read latencies of either 2.0 or 2.5 cycles. The multiple read latency selections allow designers more flexibility to optimize SRAM performance in their particular applications. Type-II+ SRAMs also offer optional On-Die Termination (ODT) to improve signal integrity. ODT can be enabled or disabled via the ODT pin—a low (0) disables ODT while a high (1) enables ODT.

GSI offers both leaded packages for those designs that have not transferred to green manufacturing processes and RoHS-compliant packages for applications that demand environmentally friendly products. The XRP7704, XRP7708, XRP7713, XRP7714, and

XRP7740, members of the PowerXR family, are pulse-

width modulated (PWM) step-down DC-DC controllers

with a built-in LDO for standby power and GPIOs.

The devices provide a complete power management

solution in one IC and are fully programmable via the

included I²C serial interface. Independent Digital Pulse

Width Modulator (DPWM) channels regulate output

voltages and provide all required protection functions

such as current limiting and over-voltage protection.

Each output voltage can be programmed from 0.9V to

5.1V without the need of an external voltage divider.

The wide range of the programmable DPWM switching

frequency (from 300 KHz to 1.5 MHz) enables the user

to optimize between efficiency and component size. An

I²C bus interface is provided to program the ICs as well

as to communicate with the host for fault reporting

and handling, power rail parameters monitoring, etc.

The start-up delay and ramp of each PWM regulator

can be independently controlled and offers a complete

solution for programmable soft-start and soft-stop.

The OEM Wireless LAN Modules OWL221a and OWL222a from connectBlue has been developed for integration in high demanding industrial devices providing state of the art low power features, reliability and compatibility.

Using these modules minimize the work needed to implement Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n) in a device as it provides all hardware, EMC certifications and radio type approvals such as R&TTE, FCC and IC. This lowers the time-to-market, the requirements of in-house radio knowledge and any design uncertainties.

The accompanying software driver works as the interface between the TCP/IP stack in the host device and the module, is available for Linux, WinCE and embedded systems and may be adapted for any micro controller.

The interface to the module is either SPI (up to 80 MHz) or SDIO (v2.0 up to 50 MHz). For easiest integration a version with integrated antenna is available, but a version with connectors for external antennas is also available to allow for the module to be mounted inside metal enclosures. To improve the radio properties even further you can also connect dual external antennas for diversity support.

As with all connectBlue modules the form factor, interface and connectors layout is kept the same over time and over radio technologies. This means that a product can be designed for using different radio technologies like Bluetooth or Wireless LAN, but also be prepared for using upcoming modules when new modules implementing new features are available.

To accelerate the customer’s evaluation, product design, development and delivery a wide range of Wireless LAN development kits are available. The kits collection spans over a wide variety of customer development needs. For instance, there are choices of complete out-of-the-box test system, or software kits for integration into one’s own existing system for evaluation.
