Program: Combined Divisions, Warning Signal 1355hours This is a SYC tower start, finishing at the R4 mark, governed by the current SYC Sailing Instructions and the Notice of Race, except as amended below. 1. Sign On A boat intending to race shall contact SYC Tower on VHF Channel 77 from 1330 to 1345 hours on 31 October, advising her sail number, boat name and number of people on board (POB) and receive acknowledgment from the SYC tower. 2. Finish The finishing line will be between R4 and Boonoorong, from the direction of the last mark. 3. Communication The race radio frequency will be VHF Channel 77. 4. Yachts Retiring Should a boat retire from the race, every effort must be made to advise either the SYC Tower, or Boonoorong on VHF channel 77 or the SYC Boating Office (0457008869), as soon as possible and to give the following : Time and position at the time of retirement. Reason for retirement. The port to which the yacht is returning. This amends SYC SI Clause 22.

Important  Notice  to  Competitors  

Skippers  are  reminded  of  the  requirement  for  competing  boats  to  keep  clear  of  commercial  shipping  at  all  times.  Boats  should  not  cross  commercial  shipping  channels  where  such  crossing  would  interfere  with  the  passage  of  commercial  shipping  or  be  so  close  as  to  cause  concern  for  commercial  shipping.  

In  accordance  with  section  2.22  of  the  Port  of  Melbourne  Regulations,  participants  in  the  series  are  advised  of  the  requirements  to  report  any  incident,  hazard  or  obstruction,  as  soon  as  reasonably  practical,  to  port  of  Melbourne  Vessel  Traffic  Services  (VTS).
