Several board members recently attended local community days in order to drum up additional members. The board has been coordinating the various aspects of the + www.northpennskiclub.org trips we have planned, working on updates to the club website, coming up with prize drawings and other interesting features for this season’s meetings, and much more. And YOU can do your part too by renewing your dues this month. As mentioned in an email blast prior to September’s meeting, NPSC membership dues will be going up $5 – the first increase we’ve had in many years! This slight increase will help fund the activities and benefits we enjoy by being members in this club, as well as take up a little slack in funds since we aren’t holding an auction this year. Folks who want to save a few bucks can renew in October at the current rates ($20 individual, $25 couple/family) – use the “Early Bird” renewal application provided in this newsletter. We will also have forms available at October’s meeting. But, come November, dues increase to $25 individual and $30 couple/ family. The updated form is already posted on our website. Another thing that takes place early is “Trip Deposits”! We need to be making payments on lodging and transportation for the Steamboat trip, so your signup deposits and subsequent payments are strongly encouraged. Quite a few members were interested in a western trip this season, and Steamboat won in our vote for a destination. Now it’s time to put your money where your mouth is! :) Our trip coordinators got NPSC a fantastic deal by booking early (an entire week of skiing, lodging, and round trip transportation for under $1500!). Now we need our members to do the same – book early! Complete details will be available at the meeting, and the trip flyer and application form are posted on the NPSC website. Let’s go skiing! So let’s talk about the October meeting! It takes place THIS THURSDAY at the Red Cedar Grille. We will have all the forms necessary for you to renew membership, sign up for a trip, and .. . there will be a raffle drawing for a $35 Buckmans Ski Shop gift card! Come on out and join the fun, enjoy a good meal, and visit with ski club friends (or make new ones). If you haven’t visited our new meeting location, you really should. It’s quite nice! See you there!
