Part II. Self-Assessment

The city made significant progress this year, especially in developing a GIS and has continued the process of zoning ordinance review andreopdification. The city's entire storm drain system has been mapped on GIS . We purchased GPS units and received basic t raining and areactively using the technology. Also this year, we hired SEA consultants to formulate our systematic IDDE program and to guide the process ofimplementing strong, effective ordinance to support the program . Once again as a result of the Housatonic Valley Association's (HVA)volunteer monitoring, an illicit discharge was identified and rectified . The source of the discharge was a pipe connecting sewer and storm drain, which had probably been there for a long time. Needless to say, this was a great, environmentally beneficial refinement .
