FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
May 10, 2020
Now you moms are really blessed since your kids are with you 24/7. I know it’s hard but I think it can also be a joy. I’m alone so I appreciate the value company can have. I wish all of our moms the blessings of peace, patience and joy on Mother’s Day and always. Enjoy your kids and bless them with your kindness, love and security. I also think of all our First Communion and Confirmation students who have had to wait to receive their sacraments. It will happen as soon as possible. In the meantime, please keep me in your prayers. Know that I miss you and realize that, in life, things don’t always work out as we plan but can be okay, anyway, with patient endurance. Hang in there!! Finally, I congratulate all our parish graduates who are missing out on all of the usual parties and ceremonies which are usual to mark these milestones in your lives. You still accomplished your goals, so best wishes and prayers. Carry-on! To all of our parishioners, thanks for your prayers, continued support and good wishes. I hope to see you soon. Fr. Greg
PRAYER FOR A PANDEMIC May we who are merely inconvenienced remember those whose lives are at stake. May we who have no risk factors remember those most vulnerable. May we who have the luxury of working from home remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making the rent. May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close remember those who have no options. May we who have to cancel our trips remember those who have no safe place to go. May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market remember those who have no margin at all. May we who settle in for a quarantine at home remember those who have no home. As fear grips our country, let us choose love. During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us yet find ways to be a loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen
LAUDATO SI’ WEEK Laudato Si’ Week (May 16-24) celebrates the fifth anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical, On Care for Our Common Home”. The USCCB has long encouraged Catholics in the United States to protect creation. USCCB resources deepen the Catholic family’s understanding of integral ecology, the understanding that “everything is connected”.
Laudato Si’ Week Prayer: Loving God, Creator of heaven and earth and all that is in them. Your created us in your image and made us stewards of all creation, of our common home. You blessed us with the sun, water and boutiful land so that all might be nourished. Open our minds and touch our hearts. So that we may attend to your gift of creation.

REFLECTION Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the
works that I do, and will do greater ones than these.
Who can imagine doing greater works than Jesus; yet, this is
what Jesus says in today's Gospel. Even with him saying that, I
doubt that any of us is inclined to take it literally. But some do
come close. Today is Mother’s Day, and mothers can be a very
impressive group of people. Most mothers are known for their
unconditional and sacrificial love, their wisdom and guidance,
their generosity and mercy. Mothers are life-givers, and the
original Mother’s Day Proclamation affirms that in a very
profound way: “Arise, then, women of this day! Arise all women
who have hearts, whether your baptism be of water or of tears!
Say firmly: ‘…Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn all
that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy, and
patience. We women of one country will be too tender to those of
another country to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs.’
From the bosom of a devastated Earth a voice goes up with our
own. It says ‘Disarm! Disarm!’ …take counsel with each
other as to the means whereby the great human family can live in
peace....to promote the alliance of the different nationalities, the
amicable settlement of international questions, and the great and
general interests of peace.”

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to
receive you in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there
And unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen
espiritualmente a mi Corazon.
Amen
