Tips for busy teachers
**Use ‘display a directory’ (Moodle name for
folder) instead of uploading individual
documents.
**Use tables to display contents or lists of
files to keep your page clear and uncluttered.

**Access Moodle from any internet computer:
http://eilp.abingdon-witney.ac.uk. Don’t ac-
cess Moodle from the remote access login.
NOTE: Moodle does not work well in the following
browsers: Safari, Google Chrome. Please advise
your students to use Firefox (free) or Internet
Explorer when accessing Moodle and the PDP.
If your mailbox in Outlook gets too full, you
need to delete your unwanted mail. You must
also empty the Delete box.
Tell your students what you will do if the
college is closed. Remember to:
** Keep your Moodle course up to date.
Remind/ask students about:
** Remote access to documents
**Remote access to Moodle
** Find out how many of your students are on
Skype or learn about the college video confer-
encing desktop software. Webcams are often
installed on laptops or can be bought for less
than £10.
Ask an e-Learning advisor for help.
Our Bb license expires at the
end of this year. PLEASE
make sure that you copy any
documents or websites from
Bb to your own area or a
memory stick. Once it’s gone, it is GONE.
*Save documents and PowerPoint handouts in
PDF format. It saves file size and can then be
opened by any type of computer or
Smartphone. In Office 2007 and 2010, click
‘Save as’ and choose PDF.
The Google calendar on RITA (intranet) is up to
date with e-Learning Advisors available time
and campus location.
*An on-line board for post-it notes where students
add notes, photos and weblinks (similar to
Wallwisher) : Lino it
