Welding Expo 2018 Kickoff Over thirty students and advisors met yesterday for the opening kickoff for the

2018 Welding Expo. Students started with a rehabilitation project for Spanish

Fork fairgrounds. This included removal of damaged support material from view-

ing bleachers and the installation of permanent forklift raceways to allow easy

pick up and placement of the bleachers. Spanish Fork City has been a loyal sup-

porter of the event each year and, the students were eager to help in paying it

forward. After the fabrication project, students met and discussed the changes in

this year’s event. It will be held in the outdoor arena and several new categories

have been added.

Southern Utah University will be hosting an open house in Provo on November 9th at the Utah Valley Convention Center (220 West Center, Provo).

They will be waiving application fees and awarding scholarships on the spot to some of those students who bring their transcripts with them! The department heads from housing, academic advising, ROTC (army and air force), etc. will attend so students with questions or concerns can talk with them.
