From our December Meeting onwards we will be back at “The Palms”. I know that many of you have not been attending because of having to drive on the Freeway over the Narrows Bridge at night which is quite understandable. However we have a very interesting demonstrator this month so I urge those of you who can to be at this Meeting. The December Meeting will be our Christmas Meeting, full details of which follow in this Newsletter. DEMONSTRATOR Our Demonstrator for this month is Margaret Coxall. Margaret is a professional painter and a trained GOLDEN ARTIST DEMONSTRATOR. She will be showing us the different mediums (including the new watercolour range) and will demonstrate the effects that can be achieved. This should be an extremely interesting and educational demonstration so please make every effort to attend. FROM THE PRESIDENT

NOVEMBER MEETING

I am pleased to advise that this month’s Meeting at the Rotary Hall, Sandgate Street, Como will be

the last at that venue. From our December Meeting onwards we will be back at “The Palms”.

I know that many of you have not been attending because of having to drive on the Freeway over

Sue Arnautovic and Rachel Krasenstein have just finished their Exhibition at Ellis House and were

very successful with Sue having 6 sales and 3 commissions and Rachel 7 sales and 4 commissions.

CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION

The Christmas Card Competition will be held at the December Meeting. Please bring an original

handmade card with an envelope that fits the card. The card must be hand painted or drawn.

Computer generated cards will not be accepted.

When you present your card it will be given a number and the card displayed for voting.

The winner will receive $25.00 and runner up $15.00. The winning card will be sent to our patron

The Governor of Western Australia. The runner up card will be sent to a benefactor yet to be

decided. The other cards will be placed in a box and the remaining contestants (excluding winners)

will then participate in a lucky dip to receive another artist’s card.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Christmas Party will commence at 7.00pm on Thursday 18 December 2014. Entrance to the

Meeting for members and any guests will be $5.00 per person. For this you will receive 3 tickets in

the Christmas Basket draw. There will be 3 baskets and 3 separate draws during the evening for a

basket so you will have 3 chances to win.

There will be a White, Blue, Gold and Platinum Competition and because it is Christmas there will be

a $25.00 cash prize for the winner of each category provided there are at least 3 paintings in each

category. Please bring a painting of your choice and see if you can be a winner.

The entertainment this year will be provided by a professional and award winning magician Robbie T

which should be great fun.

PLEASE BRING A PLATE OF FINGER FOOD NOT SHOP BISCUITS OR FOOD THAT REQUIRES HEATING.

CHAMPAGNE, ORANGE JUICE AND OUR FAMOUS NON-ALCOHOLIC PUNCH AND NIBBLES WILL BE

PROVIDED.

MEMBER PRIZE WINNERS AND SALES

Mia Laing won the framer’s prize at this year’s Royal Show with her painting ‘Reflections’.

Dave Conlin won second prize at the Pastel Societies Annual Exhibition with ‘Night Walk in the

Algarve’

Tracey Morgan exhibition with Cube 27. Her entry ‘Rejuvenation’ comprised of 27 canvasses to

make one picture sold for $1,728.00. She also exhibited at the Darlington Festival and sold her

canvass ‘Electric Density’.
