MASTERS CORNER... Firstly it was remiss of me not to mention the success of Paul “Pirate” Blackbeard in being a member of the winning team in the Makule Section of the Maui Channel swim and being 14th

overall (but 1st in his category) of the Wakiki Rough water swim. Well done Paul – more notches for the six gun!!!! There is a new Members List out and you can get a copy from Wally – now only 4 Team Leaders – Myself – Allan Nicholls – Marg Kyle and Richard Bedford. Also there are a number of Carnival Nomination Forms outstanding so please get them completed and returned to Wally ASAP. By now Proficiencies should have been done and Patrol Hours noted if you wish to enter State or National Titles. Decisions as to which carnivals we will enter will soon be made and all will be notified. One I would recommend is the Brunswick Heads Masters – a good old fashioned carnival – with little officaldom. More about this later. MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MASTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. Haydon Stokes Masters Team Manager

Now in its 2nd year, our Boat Crews welcomes an opportunity to recruit and promote TSS students. At TSS

there exists a platform of established “still water” rowers who would consider extending their rowing experience to “surf rowing.

The annual TSS T-Bones Surf Boat Regatta, hosted by our boat crews, assist each other’s respective “rowing sports” and goes onto creating a traditional end of graduation year with a fun / entertaining / competitive competition that is a great fit for all students.

This year 23 students took the opportunity to gain their Surf Lifesaving Bronze Medallion (Membership to BMD Northcliffe), and are already doing patrols on our beach. From this promotion we are hopeful in having 2 x “Under 19” Surf Boat Crew in competition from January.
