Ninth graders currently taking Biology will get concurrent credit for Health. This will appear as a Period 9 class on the spring schedule and will appear on the transcript at the end of the semester
If your student took Biology in the 8th grade for high school credit, health will have to be taken as a separate course. Summer school is the best option for this.
Passing STAAR exams in English 1 & 2, Biology, Algebra 1, and US History
All Lamar students are scheduled into the Distinguished Level of Achievement
Program
More competitive for college admission Can be admitted to public 4 year colleges
in Texas under the top 10% law
Students move into the next course in sequence and if needed, deficiencies
are made up online at home, in summer school or in Grad Lab when
available
College recruited athletes should make up NCAA core courses by
correspondence with the University of Texas
The Distinguished Level of Achievement Program requires 26 credits and includes an endorsement
An endorsement is a related series of courses grouped by an interest or skill which provide in-depth knowledge of a subject area
It is a pathway with a sequence of courses selected in 9th grade
All students completing
the Distinguished Achievement Program
automatically complete the
Multidisciplinary Endorsement
because of additional math, science and
