BOTTLES FOR BABIES COLLECTION REMINDER

We had a great response to the Knights Bottles for Babies campaign. If you still have a bottle, please be sure to return it at your earliest convenience either to the sacristy or the parish office. Checks should be made payable to the Knights of Columbus. Thank you for supporting St. Agnes Home and the Knights of Columbus.

THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME First Reading: Proverbs 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31 An encomium for a good and worthy wife, this passage from Proverbs extols all the virtues which a worthy wife possesses – fidelity, industriousness, skill, charity to the poor, and fear of the Lord. Second Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 Once again, Paul reassures the Thessalonians, who are anxious about the coming of Christ, that they need not fear being unprepared because they are “children of light.” Gospel: Matthew 25:14-30 Jesus narrates the parable of the talents – in the story, the silver pieces given to the three men. Two of the men invest their coins and double their worth, but the third buries his coins in the ground and earns no return. The message of Jesus is that we must use to the fullest the talents we have received.

SAVE THE DATE… AS we begin ADVENT In response to Pope Francis’ call to lead people to a deeper love and understanding of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Father Henry Frascadore and Still Small Voice have joined together to create a moving hour of poetry and song. On Tuesday evening December 2nd they have been invited to share this program with us. It will be held in our Church sanctuary from from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Signed copies of Father Frascadore's books will be made available for sale as well.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches us a lesson in the Parable of the Talents. When Jesus used the word “Talents”, he was referring to a kind of coin. Today we use this word to describe a person's special abilities. God has gifted each of us in many ways and He does not want us to “bury” these gifts! We all have particular skills and talents, and each person is unique. We are all called to share what God has given us so that our lives will make a difference. God blessed us when we use our gifts and talents to help others!

THE LITURGICAL YEAR!

Next Sunday, November 23rd is the last Sun-day of the Liturgical Year. The Liturgical Year is the name of the Church Year, which cele-brates the events in the Life of Jesus. On this day we celebrate the Feast of Christ The King! The following week begins a new Church Year with the First Week of Advent. This is a good time to make spiritual resolutions and focus on how we can show our love for Jesus by sharing our gifts of time, talent and treasure in our Church, Community and World! Here are a few ways that we honor Jesus, our King—by sharing our blessings to improve the lives of others:

Support our Christmas Holiday Craft Fair this weekend—to raise funds for MATH (Medical Aid for Haiti) Dollars for Deeds for Catholic Family Ser-vices - to help those affected by the Ebola virus in Africa. Bring donations to class this week. Remembering to bring your Offertory Enve-lopes to Mass - to show your love for God by listing your good deeds each week.

God blesses those who put God first by worship-ping at Mass throughout the entire Church Year!
